I played before against a 3-and-a-half star team I'm 1 and-a-half star and it was awful, I scored early but after that he dominated me, his players were so much faster and more powerful and in the end he won.
Don't think I'll waste any ms points on this, sooner or later the fun will wear off.
I enjoyed it at the start cos the kids cant play with the rubbish players when everyone's 1 and-a-half star.

If you could just play against teams with your rating it would be perfect, you could build up teams at your own pace instead of becoming Man Utd in a day to keep up with all the kids. Such a shame, great idea ruined. :(
It's given me the taste for online stuff though, I really hope they implement an online manager mode in FIFA 10. I'd prefer to play as Tranmere than as a fantasy team.
CB, why you moaning about playing a 5 star team when you are a 4 star team?!
Chris Davies
23 March 09, 21:26
I'd play them but there's 5-star and there's 6-star-really-cos-they've-got-Ronaldo-Messi-Kaka-Ronaldinho-Rooney-etc-.etc.-etc.
How do you know if you never play them?

Remember the team chemistry needs to be spot on or these superstars wont be as good as they could be ;)
I can understand if you're a 2/3 star team now wanting to play a 5 star but when you're 4 not playing 5 star that's a step too far imo.
Chris Davies
23 March 09, 21:40
You say that but if someone's half a star below me they quit, if someone's the same star level as me they quit... As I've found out playing the assisteds, you have to fight fire with fire otherwise they'll walk all over you. So two can play at that game.

Except when they play on all assisted and you play on all manual it's not gonna make that much difference.....
It will because their players won't make decent off the ball runs.

Simple "cheat" to improve your team a bit, use a 2nd gamertag and trade any decent silver cards from the default pack with your main gamertag, that way you improve your overall squad without resorting to buying packs with MS points like glory whores.
So simple steps if it's not obvious:
1. Use a spare gamertag (or create a new one), boot up UT, start a new UT, if you get some reasonable silver cards in the default pack put them up for sale at like 10k
2. Log out and sign in with your main gamertag, find the silver cards you put up for sale and offer a trade of some crappy bronze card like a gameplay card.
3. Sign back in with your temp gamertag, accept the trade(s).
4. Sign back into your main gamertag and be told the silver players are now yours, play with and enjoy :)
Placebo is a cheat!

It's not cheating, it's just wife swapping :)
Hahaha!
Yeah I thought about doing that but I'm not even gonna buy the game, I don't like it enough.

Monday March 23, 4:15pm PST / Monday March 23, 11:45pm GMT
360 USERS ONLY:
‘We have a fix identified for the card trading issues and we’re in the process of testing it in game. The fix will be deployed later this evening (in 4-6 hours). It will likely involve bringing the servers down momentarily for a few minutes. We don’t plan on having it down for an extended period but I will keep you posted if there are any changes.’
PS3 USERS:
‘We have more database optimizations coming your way. The update later this evening (same time as 360 bug fix mentioned above) will require a small amount of server downtime. It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.’
I will post another update in a couple of hours.
End of update

Suprised some of you lot are cheating! Chris buying a Gold pack, Placebo adding from another account. Personally I find it fine, Its a challenge in its self to compete with the Assisted Kids who buy 10 Gold packs from the start.
Im happy sticking it out, I've already won 1 Cup by beating a 5 Star team in the QF's. I found that for a while you have to stick it out with Silver cards, keep buying Silver contracts until your first 11 have 15-20 matches and then go out for the Gold pack. Or maybe its just Xbox Live where EVERY team is 5*'s Most of the time the team I face is similar level to me.

How do you guys combat the CPU constantly pressing and shutting you down as soon as you get the ball? My forwards aren't fast enough to hit them on the counter as they're playing really high defensive lines so it just becomes mayhem in the middle of the pitch as I can't ever seem to get passed the CPU.

Thats what I wanna know, most matches end up low scoring (0-0, 1-0) scraps with little 'football' played compared to real life (or even PES).
I play on 'Pro' and have most controls on Semi, long ball and through ball on manual.
Seems Semi-Pro is too easy and Pro too hard - I need a semi-semi pro

Thanks for that Tim, I tried that and was able to play my brother to a thrilling 0-0 draw haha. Glad there's a workaround for that. Just don't understand why there has to be workarounds at all.
Played a tourney, beat a 5 star team with my two star team 4-0!!! but... there was no team difference modifier!! what gives? lost in the second round to a 4 star team in extra time 2-1, I could have easily won it in normal time but for some crucial misses. Team is quite feisty for a two star :)
I just lost 5 vs 1 to an assisted fucker online and one of their goals included that fucking half way line shot. The keeper was backtracking and watching the flight of the ball yet the stupid idiot isn't aware of where he is on the pitch and he catches the ball after he has crossed the line. :CURSE:

I reckon there is a potentially revolutionary idea for FIFA 2010, which can be trialled in 09. If you can add BAP to 08, UT to 09, then theoretically you should be able to add hubs to 09 still. It’s a hotpotch from what is a general community concern, the ease of all assisted play and a wish for more categorized control setting match ups, and in my opinion, separate rankings.
Split Fifa online into 3 hubs. As soon as you sign into fifa online, you have a choice of entering 3 hubs. Assisted, semi/manual combo, manual. Each hub has its own ranking, so you get assisted, semi/manual combo, manual rankings. Unranked matches would also match you up with your hub control setting. Maybe the Assisted hub would be set to fast speed, semi/manual hub set to normal speed, manual hub set to slow speed. Those who want an arcade game online enter the former, those who want a realistic simulation enter the latter, and those who want something in between go for the middle one. If you want to change your control scheme, you sign out and into a different hub.
Some could say it restricts freedom, e.g. “what if I use assisted for this, semi for that, manual for this?” To me it doesn’t. Assisted controls should be in their own category, they make the game easy, are really suited to beginners, and are easy to abuse as we already see in fifa online. Intermediate players should really be using semi and then moving to all manual if they wish to or have the ability. A lot of people don't really need assisted, they are good enough to move up, but they don’t because with assisted you can play with little thought, ping pong it about and win more easily to move up the rankings.
This would bring a lot of players back to fifa online who have quit due to it being one dimensional, i.e. mainly being suited to the assisted arcade side. It isn't snobbish and elitist, but actually flexible enough to cater for differing gamers. Categorizing the game like this would revolutionize online play IMO.

Something along those lines would be perfect, the assisted noobs can play on their own so we get rid of them. I'm not sure about the game speed settings though, as that can differ between manual players and the ranked games should probably all be the same. Unranked on the other hand maybe should have the same options, but also a "All" option if you don't care and is fine with whoever to play against.

David will we finally see non-assisted gameplay online in Fifa10? Will those of us who despise assisted, arcade gameplay be able to choose to avoid such Fifa users in all modes online? Would be a hugely popular inclusion, I think UT feedback is showing how popular the movement against assisted gamers is becoming ;)

No but you can easily make the change yourself if you have min one sub left.
So imagine Gerrard is injured and you have to take him off, sub in say Benayoun but not for Gerrard, sub Alonso with Benayoun, then Alonso with Gerrard, then just swap Benayoun and Alonso to be in the right positions, Alonso will be the captain and it only costs you one sub as normal.

Single player BAP mode you can create a player for or you can use a normal player.
Online BAP you don't create a player for - you have to choose a player that already plays for the team. (So you can't play with your created player)
You should play a good few games on single player first, before you go online with BAP as it takes a bit of getting used to.

Man CW you almost made it sound like BAPS was good enough as is and no need to improve. I think they should make it way more involving than it is now. Right now it's just play game, back to menu, play game and so on. They need to somehow make you feel like you're in a football professional simulator. Add optional stuff like training (to gain exp), some sort of relationship with the manager/players and so on.
You did say they need to make it more deep though so I hope EA gets it.
And personally I would like it to be so that if you shoot a lot of good shots in matches (and in training) you will gain points to add to it. So if you play without ever doing any headers you shouldn't be able to improve it. Same with skills and so on. This way your way of playing the game will be reflected in the player, much more realistic.
You tell him Gab :DD. He did a shit job and let us all down. Where on earth did you get that 8 out of 10 teams play decent football from!?!?!?!?!? I'd say 8 out of 10 were assisted cunts.

Sadly I didn't notice any UT changes moving through to MM, although I had only played a couple of MM matches on day 1 or 2 of UT's release so fingers crossed as the gameplay from the AI is IMO much, much better, even the ball physics is improved, especially hard, low shots, I've scored a number of low (ie no more than 18" off the ground) 20 yard shots.

Can't tell if it's my imagination, but I've scored some much more intricate goals since downloading the patch. At Placebo's advice also switched ot Manual, which seems to have made a real difference to the AI's ability to pass to each other, strangely. I now intercept things occsionally, and they don't read me nearly as well. can't recommend it enough, game is like a breath of fresh air again.
(not to say it doesn't still have MAJOR deficiencies that I find insulting to anyone who watches football)
I've had enough of the SP portion of this game, once again in one of my tournaments players have disappeared and been replaced by numbers.
I'm only going to play Clubs from now on.

I'm pretty sure the gameplay on the whole has changed since the patch, in MM and exhibition for example.

i'm enjoying this game more now than i did when i first got it, at the moment i'm using semi/manual controls on worldclass and i'm a third of a way through my first season on manager mode with Hartlepool (started a new MM). just loving it, bought a couple of players to cover postions and being sensible with those signings and having auto growth off has meant it hase been fairly realistic (leicester top and battered me 3-0) and the season so far is going well, currently sitting 4th. personally i think the updates have helped with gameplay, i am seeing less 'cheating' from the AI and i think it's got slightly more difficult, which is a good thing.

Today I found a Arsenal fan, and I was up 3-0 and he kept playing and the final score was 4-3 to me! You can always find some brilliant people, you just need some patience.

They definitely need to sort out the way pressuring/tackling works for FIFA 10, the way it is at the moment completely ruins 1v1 online matches for me, as everyone i've played seems to just hold the pressure and sprint buttons down at the same time and it makes it impossible for the player with the ball, especially on manual controls.
You're given no time on the ball whatsoever, as soon as it arrives at the player's feet you have an opponent on you within a second - and just by holding a button the defenders can react instantly to turns/movements by the attacker, make tackles at impossible angles, push players off the ball etc. Why should just holding a button allow you to do this?
That's one major thing I think is better about PES - I remember on PES5 that just holding pressure/sprint would be of no use against a human opponent because most of the time, simply a well timed change in direction would get you past a defender when they were doing this and it forced people into learning how to defend and tackling effectively was a skill in itself - you would have to back off the attacker and only use the pressure button when the ball was there to be won, and you could use super cancel to push players off the ball (my mates used to call that cheating because it was like a rugby tackle at times and fouls were never given :P).
The problem came in PES6 onwards, when quick players could just run round/through whole teams no matter how you defended against it.
It's not so bad in online BAP Clubs matches on FIFA though, as the games are normally more open because of people creating space off the ball, meaning when you get the ball you normally have more time on it to think about what to do. Clubs mode is actually the only part of FIFA 09 I really enjoy playing now and it might be the only one I play from now on...

I agree. turning and moving a player is still slow and sluggish and makes defending piss easy in this game unlike PES where you can turn and shoot pretty quickly
I don't think that was Rob's point jonney . He's saying defending is too easy, not attacking too hard.

I completely agree. It's far too easy to win the ball in this game, and because in my opinion response times are still too slow it makes dribbling your way out of a tackle/pressure nigh on impossible.
It's got to the point where I don't enjoy playing Fifa multiplayer a great deal. Everyone plays with the double pressure button clamped down the whole game. Every game is played at 100 mph and it makes matches very scrappy. Defending was an art in PES, you needed to think about it more, and good players were capable of holding off challenges and dribbling out of trouble.

Have you had your cup of coffe yet because i stated how defending is piss easy. where did i mention attacking being too hard?:CONFUSE::NO:
Where you said turning and moving a player is slow and sluggish ;)).
Players also needs way better control over the ball. In real life when you (pro player) receive a pass you will damp (not sure if that's the correct word) the ball making it look like it is stuck to your foot. In FIFA the ball bounce around like the players are a bunch of handicapped people with downs syndrome. I think that is one of the reasons why people say the ball is to lightweight and bouncy. This and that every shot heads for the sky.
Better control will also make it easier, or more realistic if you will, to go one-on-ones with defenders because it will let you quickly make moves. As it is now the ball have to bounce around for a while before the player turns. But I agree that defending should be more like in PES 5, it was simply the most realistic standing tackle system ever produced in a football game. If you didn't time it well or came in from a bad angle you would foul the other player, just like in real life. Problem is that all the kids complained so much about this because all the freekicks made the game boring. Fucking bastard kids ruining our games...

100% agree. I am playing Fifa more than 5 mounths and the defending is a f... joke. Every noob holding the pressure and sprint buttons and do nothing for a good defending. They are not cover if i play a one-two pass, because the com cover my players. I never get a penalty against this two buttons pressure. They can do the pressure the whole game because of the unrealistic stamina of the players.
....and after the game its make me laugh to see the stats of those players. For example one fifa player have 1000 win and only 285 loses by only pressing this two buttons.
In PES and in real football those players would lose 10:0 but in Fifa they have this huge com advantage in the defending. Ridiculous!

Are you serious? I think players control the ball far too well in Fifa, even "bonze/silver" players like Sheffield Wednesday players can get the ball under control instantly.
Nah I agree with Gab here, sometimes they take absolutely wank touches. Especially chest control it's an absolute joke.

23 April 09, 16:01
The worst things for me are when you get tackled and it takes way to long to get back into the action.
Also Goalkeepers getting back onto their feet quickly, when the ball is still in a dangerous position after making a save! so frustrating when they make a save and then take ages to get back up and in position for the next save.
Are you serious? I think players control the ball far too well in Fifa, even "bonze/silver" players like Sheffield Wednesday players can get the ball under control instantly.
Yes I am. Obviously I'm not saying that all players should have superb control, shit players like in Wednesday should have wank control like in real life ;)
But when you receive a pass in FIFA with good players the ball always bounce around, it doesn't stick to the foot like in real life when a good /semi good player isn't under pressure.

I agree with Gab, too. Quite often the ball bounces off players when they are in a perfect position to control it first time. A good player should be able to trap a ball dead but they tend to make hard work of it in Fifa.

In fairness though for UT I'm playing with all gold players, even my Sheffield Wednesday players are trained to gold ;)
I never receive a pass without holding down the pace button so it's not about that. It's just like Jamezinho says, they never trap it dead like in real life. There is always small amount of bouncing around, that's fine for very bad teams but not for the rest.
Anyway enough of that. I hope they're trying to come up with a new optional control scheme based on analogue sticks and shoulder buttons like skate/nhl, would be sweet. The current controls result in so much crap like you press the button to do a standing tackle and instead you pass the ball. You want to slide tackle - you cross the ball. In baps you want to take the ball - you end up telling team mates to pass the ball and the list goes on and on. I'm working with usability and those kind of stuff, and the most basic thing to think of when designing interactive systems is that if a user expect one thing to happen, something else should never be able to happen. NHL used to have almost the same control scheme as FIFA and they have now a very fluid scheme were your thumbs almost always can rest on the analogue sticks and just sometimes move the right thumb to press a button.
LOL, people in glass houses and all that Tim, which league next season? ;)

There is no issue with foot control, learn to use L1 and L2
Chest control is a difference story, especially after a throwing
That needs some tweaking and the player usually becomes sluggish after chesting the ball b4 controlling it with his feet

I wouldn't mind if the game play is just tweaked and slightly adjusted, the shooting being one area looked at, as long as the MM is vastly different.
This can be changed and improved quite easily compared to other areas such as AI.
If we only end up with a few tweaks and fluff in the MM I'll be very disappointed...

A good improvement for FIFA 10 should the different sizes of the pitch. At the moment Nou Camp is the same size as Stamford Bridge for example when they both should be completely different. would add a lot to the playing style IMO.

Ive said this loads of times. I remember in PES2/3 ect when I would need to change my tactics to suit the pitch. Bayern's olympia pitch was huge so I would play defensive and try to counter along the wings wereas at highbury I would try to keep possesion and work an opening. Made it so much better to have that in the game aswell.

Moore: PES is in FIFA's "rear view mirror"
EA Sports president Peter Moore has claimed there's now "distance" between the quality of FIFA and fierce rival Pro Evolution Soccer, with Konami's kickaround now in EA's "rear view mirror".
But Moore, while admitting his team had done "so well" with FIFA 09, revealed he is demanding a Metacritic rating of 90 for this year's version, up from the 87 recorded by the 360 and PS3 versions of 09.
"I want 90!" he told Eurogamer last week, at the Emirates Stadium in north London for the unveiling of FIFA 10 "It's a challenge, and as I said in the presentation, it's not easy with sports games to continue to raise the bar every single year - and it's half tongue-in-cheek as I know how difficult it is."
Moore announced his desire for a 90 average during a briefing with UK journalists, as FIFA producer Dave Rutter watched from the sidelines.
"FIFA 09 has been spectacular and we've got a high bar for FIFA 10," Moore said afterwards. "So yeah, Rutter's got some work to do, but yeah, I'd like a 90 this year."
Speaking of the series' long-standing competition with Pro Evolution Soccer, Moore added: "I don't underestimate Konami. I've spent a lot of time, as you know, in Japan over the years and they're a great company. The day we start resting on our laurels is the day we start slipping back.
"We've got a little bit of distance in the rear view mirror between ourselves and our competitor right now, but we can't get complacent and we can't stop trying to innovate and making sure we keep that distance between us and them."

i wish the pitch will become more bigger so you can feel the real soccer world with this amazing game it 4 sure amazing also i like the players to be more lighter in 09 they its hard to dribble and turn around so i wish the dribbling with out the tricks will be more improvment thats all :P
would like to see them work more on players appearances, konami nail this and i believe would make fifa alot better
they are pretty much there with gameplay and it only needs some minor tweaks
guess what i'm getting at is more cosmetic changes to fifa, get rid of those hideous adboards left and right of the goal...fucking hate those with a passion!!
also hate EA home-made footy boots...just keep it real with the real boots that are already in the game...they have more than enough already
more stadiums, would love to see the bernabeu if they can get it in, and a couple more prem stadiums would be cool and perhaps parkhead and ibrox
edit mode would be nice aswell, similar to konami's would do the trick
and last but not least, every goalkeeper kit needs to be added....hate seeing prem goalies looking like sunday league keepers
Don't want much do you? ;)

I think improved AI coupled with a healthy injection of new animations would be priority. Oh, and please get the license for the Bernabeu!

Noticed this yesterday, or finally realised is a better description, anyway surely midweek games shouldnt cost player wages. It makes cup games meaningless from a financial point which is surely one of the main reasons to play them for most clubs. Atleast PES got this and any cup/euro game would equal extra income to improve your squad.
Does anyone know why Iker Casillas kicks the ball 95% of the time with his weaker right foot?
Same reason all left footed keepers drop kick with their right foot, it simply wasn't implemented to drop kick with the left foot.........
id like to see us being able to choose whether to take inswinging or outswinging corners with 2 footed players
Yes because out of the 8,000 known corner takers in the world there must be at least 7 who actually take a corner with either foot, right? :)
Hey guys anyone have trouble with what Chris wrote about on the FIFA blog?
http://fifasoccerblog.com/blog/a-fifa-09-slowdown-tip/
I can say I noticed it way before Ultimate Team (because I haven't downloaded it). For me it happens almost every time there is a goal kick. Really annoying. And sometimes the slowdowns get stuck, so the game is in like 15 fps and you have to wait it out or press the button in the middle of the controller, and the xbox menu pops up, and then press it again to go back in the game and the slowdowns are gone.
First I thought that my Xbox started to get old and shit, but no other game has slowdowns like this so it must be a bug in the game. It's weird though because it was not there from the beginning, a patch must have started it. I also tried clearing the cache but it didn't help. I'm going to try the suggestion that Chris said, but I'm pretty sure I already turned those off.
Edit: Don't know if it matters but I play on 1080p I think it is called. Pretty sure I tried 720 and had the same slowdowns though.

Had this for the ps3, deleted UT and changed the ticker setting. It helped, although I have noticed it creaping back in again after a while so maybe I need to clear the cache and whatout...
I already had the ticker settings off. Tried changing camera and with Dynamic I didn't have many slowdowns but sometimes it was still there. Must say the fps with that camera is great, so smooth, too bad you can't see shit with it. I then tried the Pro camera that I know have bad framerates and that just made it feel that it was constant slow down effect with maximum of 15 fps. Zooming all the way in on tele made it a little bit better I think, the slow downs on goal kicks wasn't as bad even if they are still there. I wonder if they changed the LOD settings on the players or something else in a patch, seems weird but I can't figure out what else it could be since it seems to be better when there's not as many players in the picture.

Along with more crab walking, more goal exploits for the morons to use, worse first touch control from throw ins, more stupid moving cameras during free kicks so you have to wait for 5 seconds until it stops moving around in order to see where you're aiming and even more delay between when you press a button and something happens.
Oh and still no replay save function with the option to upload to EA at a later date.
I scored a beautiful karate kid style kick goal yesterday. I sent a chipped through ball forward to Martins, who ran on, did the flick the ball over the head move and turned around then as the ball came down he jumped and did that jumping kick.. the ball dipped like crazy over the keeper and went in off the far post.
Best goal I've scored in ages so I spent a while getting a good camera angle on the goal and then spotted I wasn't online. I signed into the PSN and then found there is no way of signing into the EA servers while you're in a match. so I was fucked and lost all record of the goal thanks to EA's incompetence.

EA, STOP MAKING MAN UTD GODLIKE
This needs to be fixed. Last night for example i played about 10 fifa club games online. And only 2 opponents chose teams other than Man Utd. And one of them was France (another seriously over rated team). And why do all these idiots choose Man Utd? Because they are quicker, stronger and are able to close down/press for 90 minutes of the game without any consequences. For example; Berbatov was able to outpace Abidal consistantly, Ronaldo was able to run rings round just about everybody.
And it goes on right through the team. Now in Fifa Clubs the stats are supposed to be equal but its not. Why is this EA? It was so frustrating last night that i has to just go to bed. I think some type of team filter needs to be applied at the very least to Fifa10. But this godlike stats that Man Utd have needs to be addressed. Not just for the Fifa Club mode but for all modes.
Yes Man Utd are, with Barca, the best team in Europe but it should not make Berbatov into Linford bloody Christie. And if you are one of these idiots who constantly choose Man Utd and then play on fully assisted then you are ruining the game. For the love of god, choose someone else.....you may like it.
Maybe if enough people agree with this then EA will take note.

I don't under stand why EA lie about the stats being equal. It just doesn't make sense. Some games you can see your players are rated in the high 70's and then the next they're in the mid 80's. It's just looks like it was bodged together last minute so they could claim they did a lot of new work for 09 over 08.
But then the entire game has that feeling anyway - they need to make their engine work WITH the stats rather than make the engine work and then APPLY the stats and call it a finished game. Because at the moment that stats mean near to piss all with difficulty settings in there. Why should I have to purposely up the difficulty when I'm playing big name teams just to get a challenge and then drop the difficulty when playing a half star rated team to avoid them suddenly having super pace and the ability to score at will.
Maybe they could add in a 'realism' difficulty setting that flows back and forth depending on the team you're playing and the adidas live season.
There's a well known glitch for FIFA09 Clubs that makes your team play with real stats instead of 85 stats. And of course EA haven't bothered to patch it.

Does this type of formation help people win online? (i dont play fifa online)
Cause I remember the good ol' days of PES 5 and 6 online on the ps2 - if anyone tried doing this they would get destroyed if you had a more balanced formation.
if it can be used successfully on FIFA it defo needs to be looked at.
Pretty much because online in FIFA the midfield is pretty pointless really. Because it's just full attack every time. The thing is that these teams usually seems to play with assisted controls and the real stats cheat so they wont miss the chances they get.
Edit: On another note, I really wish the FIFA team did like the NHL team is doing on http://insideblog.easports.com/. Talk about fixes and stuff even if they haven't announced anything about the upcoming game yet. Also look at the madded stuff where they talk about technical stuff, really interesting to get a glimpse of what they're doing.
Has anyone else had problems, or sever slowness connecting to the EA server recently?
I thought it was my router at first, but I have bypassed that and still get problems.
Seems to freeze at Ronaldhino's face for ages, then can stick on the menus when navigating them.
I think Joe and Tim said something about that happening to them too.
Yeah, happened to me the other day but it's been fine since then.
Bitter has been having problems connecting lately too

That's what you are all about pal.

At the end of the day, its ea's fault for that. if you created a similar formation in PES, your team would get destroyed by a player who is using a balanced formation.
At the end of the day lads, if the other person is using this and is an advantage then do the same so its a level playing field

I think the fact that 90% of online gamers turn out to be 13year old tossers or out of work scrounging tossers, who do nothing but online game and hack to make themselves feel important.
It's a shame because when you find some decent game and some online mates to play it's fantastic, but then all the hacks come in and you end up thinking WTF point...

join a 1v1 league. im in a online 1v1 league and no1 uses such exploits and tactics. if i diddnt see tims post about a custom tactics, i would not have known about it.
i always play with people i know. i got a psn account specificly for fifa and i have over 40 friends who play the game fair without such redicolous tactics and exploits.

No, you shouldn't stoop to their level. Though you play on all assisted so it wouldn't surprise me.

Good stuff, i'll have a listen to it on the way home from work :)
Is there an rss link? I can setup my N95 to automatically download podcasts but I need a URL.
Sorry to dig up an old post but after spending HOURS this afternoon trying to set up an RSS feed, I've been told the feature is already there. :BRICK:
If you want to listen to the FIFASoccerBlog podcasts on your iPod, iPhone, PSP or whatever you can use this RSS link:

And also, if you want an RSS news feed for your PC's internet browser or whatever (like the BBC News / Sport ones):

Nice to see a few familiar faces still on here! :)

Good God, its been a while since you posted!!
There is a Ps3 Clubs team but no league on here for either format as far as I know

It is, but that's part of what makes it so satisfying when you do manage to score.
I play All Manual (not including player selection). It's the biggest reason why I can't see myself going back to Pro Evo (until they inevitably adopt something similar), it's like playing a different genre.

:)
Sorry, but that's bad goalkeeping, not a particularly outstanding strike.
How did you import PES goalkeeping into FIFA?
I completely agree, but it was only the second time EVER that I have scored a free kick in FIFA 09 so I surely deserve some credit for getting the power just right. :P
Goalkeepers in this game are pathetic, they have a mind of their own and go out of their way to screw you over.

Does anyone have a lnk for the PS3 squad file that someone made over at FIFA forums. It reduces all the stats such as acceleration and passing by -15 from a wide variety of teams and is meant to be excellent..It was posted on file front originally but now the links dead..many thanks

I haven't had anything. :BORED:
I've noticed that the font on the initial Clubs page when both teams appear has changed.
Online games are now called friendly and not international friendly.
Also I was playing BAP last night with AC and noticed that the audio is back in Italian now.
After the update I found it harder to score..especially trying to bend the ball using R1 but it must be all in my head...For PS3 the squad file that has been released that reduces the speed and acceleration by 15 points is superb and any p3 users should give it a try
Hi,
where can I download the squad file that reduces 15 points in speed and acceleration?
Thank you in advance

PS3 file?
http://files.filefront.com/PS3rar/;13843804;/fileinfo.html
What you need to do is create new squad file and save it on the PS3. Next transfer it to a usb stick. Download the file above. Open up the folder and swap one file SYSDATA onto the usb stick. Copy back to PS3. Load squad file in FIFA. Job done
Just started a new MM on full manual using this and i think it is awesome. Played 4 lost 2 drew 1 and won 1 all low realistic scores
