Well with August approaching and this probably being the last Winning Eleven on PS2, what would you like to see in the game? Hopefully Konami will read this but I doubt it :D

Improved shooting and GK animations:
Shooting ing WE games honestly looks appauling. They never shoot with the inside of the boot and you cant do nice curlers into the top corner. Obviously the two handed saves need to be ditched.

More "other" teams:
There needs to be more of the "rest of the world" teams. Where's Fener, Shaktar, CSKA Moscow, Mac. Tel Aviv, etc.

3rd kits:
Nearly evey team in the world now has 3rd kits so this definately needs to be put in. If a team doesn't have a 3rd kit it could be the teams alternate shorts or socks if you know what I mean.

More stadiums:
Obviously we need more of these.

Improvement of the stupid transfer and stats thing for ML:
You know when you make transfers, change stats etc.. it has no effect in the ML.. they seriously need to sort that out because its just wrong.

I'll post more as I think of them but make sure you all post your wishes..

i quote everything.

I'd like to see a master league more similar to the real league of every country.

I want 1st division teams

an editable ball

mmm
what else?

9 February 05, 17:51
i just forgot...

i want back all the master league options that were in WE7 International and i want the option to remove that orrible "aging option"

P.S: the aging stuff must be improved. It's horrible to see player that are 26 years old and their ability as stamina or speed go down...

Option to exclude retired players (unlocked) from the masters league!!!!!!!
Option to properly configure the Xbox controller for PS2 Pad!

Me to be better at this one!!!!!!

and of course more brazilian and argentinian teams like corinthians(of tevez and carlos alberto), sao paulo, palmeiras, flamengo, atletico paranaense, fluminense, santos, sao caetano; independiente, san lorenzo, velez sarsfield, newell's old boys)

1. No slowdown
2. Better stadium and crowd graphics. If ESPN Football can have those kind of stadium grass and crowd textures then why not WE?
3) 3rd kits
4) Even better kick control
5) More authentic running animations
6) European licensing
and finally....

7) make it so good it needs no updates!!!!!!!!

I could care less about a lot of the aesthetic stuff, personally.
Some better 'atmospheric' sound would be good -- crowd noise.

1) Better AI, offensively and defensively
a) more sophisticated runs off the balls
b) more tactical shape, defensively -- setting to adjust, as well
c) more differences between opposing teams playing style
d) more patient attacking from AI opponent, with less mistakes, and not relying on catchup effects or super-speed to keep games even.
e) more physicality and aggressiveness, both graphically and tactically
f) more in-game tactics like double-teaming, double-banking
g) swerving shots -- controlled or not, or both
h) better volleying and heading control

2) Online play, and improved online play
a) difficulty adjustment
b) formation loading and saving
c) possibly leagues and transfer systems

Gotta run.

1. Random boot selection. Say like, you can assign a few boots to one player and he will change boots in ML. At least you wont see players wearing the same boot for 20 years or so.
2. Random line-up selection for friendly matches. Of course, this has to be done properly like having preferences on players so you don't see the entire 2nd team Chelsea starting up.

- More licensed teams

- South American and other confedaration clubs

- Very realistic turf and pitch

- Definitely out PES and WES team!!

Rafau
10 February 05, 11:12
- the weather should affect on the turf !
- the turf should change during a game !
- more and better keeper animations !
- diffrent gameplay for each team !
- better AI for the CPU --> more changes during the game in the formation things
- BACK TO BASICS !!!!

btw; is it not a little bit late for a wishlist?

cheers rafau

None of the stuff I want will get implimented. I might not even buy the next game in the series. I'm getting fed up with Pro Evo and WE.

RuneEdge
10 February 05, 11:30
I dont' care about licences and stuff cuz we can always edit those into the game. I just want more slots for teams, kits, balls, boots, etc

Along with a slightly improved gameplay which would include new tricks, more individual special abilities, adding curve to shots, chipped penalties, etc.

mcruz
10 February 05, 11:35
great ideas labrujita!!!!
and if they can´t get the game more slower, they could be implement one option to choose the speed of the game, like we from ps1.

10 February 05, 11:42
I'd occasionally like to see a streaker run across the pitch, say once in every 100 odd games, for that touch of comedy... Apart from that I'd like to improve almost all aspects of the game, although the major ones have been mentioned..

Oh

And get the Commentary right. Its beyond poor.

10 February 05, 11:49
Edit the stats.

They have a stat range of 1-99, yet there is hardly a player in the game with an average of less than 60. What is the point of only using one end of the scale? Giving only the GREAT players really high stats would truly set them apart.

A lot of the things mentioned so far aren't going to happen on this generation of console imo.

JimJoeC
10 February 05, 12:31
Personally I'd just like to see more teams, I'm not worried about licences so much.

Also when konami brought in the regenration of players, as often, it was a good idea poorly implemented.

They should take a leaf out of Champ Man and have them come back with random names and faces. Also their skills should be more rounded. I had Zola come back with 56 tecnique which is baltantly bollocks.

Then some of his other stats were in the high 90's. They should start with all the stats lowish and then over the course of a few seasons you turn them into a world beater.

Also they need to get the freekicks right, PES3/WE7 was too easy and PES4/WE8 too hard

The ability to be sacked/resign/move to take charge of another club in the Master League.

Sensible World of Soccer had it, and for a young lad nothing beat the feeling of viewing an end of season page and receiving a job offer from another club, be it from Italy, Iceland or India.

The opportunity to jump ship, take control of a new team, then go back to your old stamping ground to face your former club, would enhance the ML no end.

10 February 05, 14:03
As much as I agree with all the graphical enhancements posted here, we have to ber ealistic in that Konami have pushed this game to the limits of PS2 capabilities. The things that they can definitely fix are within the AI, ML and edit areas (plus a few more licenses wouldn't hurt).

TO me the biggest issue I have is the CPU cheating to catch up. It has been so blatant the last couple of years it defies reason! When the combo of Hakan Sukue and Emre are shredding through a defense of Cannavaro, Nesta and Maldini as if they were the second coming of Pele/Rivellino, you know something is wrong.

Also, the ML has got to get better as management sim. All the American sports now have fully fleshed out management "dynasty" modes that allow you to control everything from ticket prices to concession stand prices to merchandise and tv/radio all while giving you great action gameplay. These are fully immersive and would be unbelievable in WE/PES. Last year EA's baseball title even had you managing player chemistry in the locker room. If you had too many stars on a team some would start grumbling if they didn't get enough playing time and this would affect the performance of the team. It worked brilliantly.

And finally, how about letting me edit teams and players and having those changes available in ML? Please!

10 February 05, 16:51
I say it every year Winning eleven graphics and gameplay with Sensible world of Soccer management THIS GAME CAME OUT IN 96 FOR HEAVENS SAKE.

Random player growth option - means if you want to start again and have unknown players become superstars you just have to scout or train them so its not the same players everytime you play.

Proper transfer market add players to list etc.

Move from one club to another so you can start again from scratch without starting game all over or get job offers or sacked.

Drugs ah you can't beet em!!!

Denirorob hit it on the head in SWOS you felt involved with your team Having the full league system is a must in this day and age......God konami get your hands in your pockets!!! And then buy an old AMIGA and play SWOS and look at the management side of it...... It was as simple as hell but involving..... all this info you get in PES and WE is fluff who goes through this stuff after a game!!! sure you want to know how well your players were judged to have played but you just played the game.. if you don't know who played well and who should be drop kicked out the door.. going through all that info aint gonna do it!! And the training is a nice idea but it takes too long!!
As for all the above i agree with them all bar the strange boot, tatoo and streaker fetish dudes.... this is a football title not GTA... ;)

The biggest thing for me is fixing the occasionally baffling AI. I'd rather they spent all the development time on gameplay. We can add teams, jerseys, stadiums and all that later (not that we should have to, but its a possiblity)
- Improve the runs, they're getting better, but there are still countless times i have a 2 on 2 and my damn other player runs right towards me or right offside
- Passing need not go to my player or the CPU: Other than down the line through balls, it seems every long pass goes to someone, not just into space
- Relax the damn AI in back/midfield. Sometimes real teams press hard, but I've had so many times when someone like RVN or Drogba chases down my midfield all the way back to my own penalty area, just looks silly.
- Give more time on the ball in non-threatening situations (similar to above comment about strikers/OMFs running like chicken's with their heads cut off wherever the ball goes)
- Someone else said it, but curled shots, maybe using L2/R2? That'd be awesome, and somewhat realistic for people like Henry
- Penatlies that can go in if you press a direction key

I think its because WE is so good that it drives me so insane, but there's always room for improvement :)

Ok, make it better! How?

1. A soccer game takes 2 halftimes at 45 minutes.
You think I am crazy, okay.
But its my decision, if I want to play 90 minutes, Ill do it.
If I want to play 5 min one halftime, I play only 5 minutes.
I play the game, I pay the game!
This couldnt be a problem for any programmer!
2. I want to tackle any cpu-opponent-player! Anyone!!!! Anytime!!!
It is ridiculous to see, how the cpu attacks mine. And me? I cant!
I dont want to foul the keeper everytime. In real game there is no such
security-space around the keeper, if he has the ball. There is no such circle around the player in real game. Not for the keeper! Not for the receiver of a Throw-In.
This means:
Positioning any player at any time to any place on the ground.
Okay, this would be a simulation.
This Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution is only an arcade game with tiny simulation aspects.
Especially its so ridiculous to see a four men wall against a 40 meter freekick.
In a simulation game its my turn to decide to where and when I place and act.
Okay, fans. Stop crying!
3. No Re-Positioning of the teams after foul, offside, freekick, throwin, kickoff and so on.
This takes all advantages for fast and clever playing.
This happens in an arcade game not in a simulation!
4. AI! Whats that! Hard to realize, I see.
But better AI is not the difference between 1 star and 5 stars.
The team doesnt play better, when I choose 5 or 6 stars.
The main aspects for 5 stars is the agressiveness and the speed of tackling me.
Thats not a simulation characterism. Okay its harder to win against cpu.
But the the game gets more and more arcade like.

Only 4 little tweaks! But the results would be great.
I know the game is the best soccer game of all.
And I like the winning eleven 3, yes 3, more than ea sports fifa 2005 or sonys TIF 2005 or the newest shitty (sorry) championship 2005 game of ea.
But everyone (okay not everyone) is shouting: Oh its so fantastic its the best, I give 99 points of 50. its a real simulation. only a few licenses more, please my team xxxxx, a little bit more graphics, this tiny stadium, the face of thierry henry is not abolutely correct, more shoes and balls, a little more mud on the shirts after a hard tackle.
Be sure, this is not a simulation game! Its only one of the best arcade games with an average approach to simulation.
But I like this game very much. Its the only game (series) Ive ever played more than 100 hours. It could be a simulation!
But I dont wanna wait until winning eleven 934Super series.
Think about it, next time you ll buy a new version, a slightly improved version. its only marketing (profit).
Tell them what really matters.
Bye!

Hey, let me add my two cents. I don't want no more leages, no more teams, no more crap, etc. What I want is:

1. When I score, I want the stadium to literally EXPLODE. I want KABIRA to go abousolutely FUCKING CRAZY and scream GOAL so load that my ASS explodes. I want to see the FANS and PLAYERS be more ENGAGED in celebration. I want to hear goal ANALYZ by Kabira instead of fucking replay music. I want to see goal replay cues during in-game breaks. I want the stadium SPEAKER to scream GOAL as well.

For the first time I want to feel like the GOAL I score fucking matters.

2. I want to see the ML keeping track of more thigs such as number of apperances, cup, leagues, int comp goals & assist. Transfer histories, major events.

Nyquil Ninja
12 February 05, 18:01
^^^Reading that, then looking at the Stone Cold avatar. ClassicS.

1. Slow down the feel of the game. I always feel like I have to go forward and attack and can do so even with crappy teams, unlike in WE5/6.

2. Variang animations for everything. GK, set pecies, running/shooting/passing.

3. Like jumbo said, there is no real 'football' environment in this game. When a I score a goal it's like: meh, let's get one with it, instead of: wow I scored a great goal. Better crowd (I want to hear a roar at La Bombanera when I score). And of course celebrations, some of whioh are starting to get cheesy.

4. Better AI and defense.

jflores
12 February 05, 19:30
Also, I want to be able to hear the crowd react with a Ooooooooooooooh!!! at shots that hit the post, or have near misses....NOKAMI has a looong way to go for a true sim..

Gotta run.

this is the best list.

i will add some of my own, but some of these i dont expect till we10 because they may need a more powerful system to implement them.

1) no more helium soccer balls/terrible touches
2) more realistic ball physics. this affects shooting, such as when a ball is hit with no spin and moves a lot
3) weather having more effect
4) ability to choose what kinda of shot you want...power, inside foot, etc.
4a) i am tired of being on the right side of the goal with a right footed player, and he shoots with his right foot. unless if using outside foot, the player should use the foot that gives him the best angle. this can only be done now by running away from the goal (towards top of 18) and shooting.
4b) full control of where you are shooting.
5) better runs off the ball.
6) 100% control of the player. this means 360º and the computer not doing auto clears, needing to use super-cancel, etc. If I want to take my player and make it tackle the player who is just standing there far from the ball, let me.
7) make ML more like tactics or FM. add a lot more players, make the transfer market more fun/realistic, etc.
8) improved detailed graphics: 3d supporters, see breath in the cold, realstic hair, wear on the turf, linesmen, etc
9) not being able to outrun a player...90 speed should go by a 70speed and then INCREASE the gap, not be caught.
10) i hate how players stumble with the ball is stolen
11) players get up too quickly a lot of the time from slide tackles
12) goalies: so much to fix...the one that is bothering me the most now is that they always seem to get to the ball on long shots...i have been trying so long to score from 40m :)
13) freekicks: they are too hard to score on now i think
14) add more euro teams (not from lower divisions like the segunda liga), but of russia, greece, etc, add south american teams, add more national teams.
15) find a way to make tricks affective. the stepovers do crap, it would be nice if SOMETIMES, if done right and u r somewhat lucky, that the defender falls out of his boots.
16) Passive offside and advantage need to be improved. Sometimes I am fouled, but advantage is played, and within a second I lose the ball, but dont get the FK.
17) A player should volley a ball, not head it in a lot of situations. (I think this may have already been resolved in J-League, but I'm not sure)
18) AI/Strategy/Style improvements. Make it more realistic, more ingame tactics, OBVIOUS style differences between teams and in different circumstances.
19) QUICK Fk's. the second the foul is played you should have one second to press a button to have someone take the FK asap, if not, then the walls and crap can be set up.

i am sure there are a lot more. just to clarify, i am very happy with WE, but there are always thing to improve. and i will let it be known that i wouldnt mind the grapchis going back a few years if it had to be done to make gameplay better.

Do you know what guys, if only We9 would have one upgrade, I would want it to be the nets. I'm not kidding. Those nets in Football Kingdom, MY GOD! The game really really sucked but when you scored you'd forget everything and just stand there looking at those net animations! Think about it, San Siro would have pretty hard nets and close to the goal line, while Porto would have the same but 10 metres in from the goal line! IMAGINE! There are so many different themes of nets. Softness, colour, lines etc...Plz Konami, PLZ!

Ok so not everything ppl suggest will get in like say for instance i would like Celtic Park in the game or at least 1 Scottish stadium, but like last year they did a thing with CGV where u sent in ur suggestions and they were passed onto the team.

i agree with all the suggestions so far.

Something that hacks me off is the changing of players, even when you have it 100% manual it STILL changes it for you!

You can be chasing a player down and the com will think that the ball has gone in the air and it'll suddenly change to a different player!

Also I'd like to be able to select the NEAREST player to the ball instead of having to press select player about three times before it gets to the correct one.

Never really thought about that one, but its something that pisses me off a great deal... im always choosing manual, as i want complete control (my mates still only choose semi-auto at middle setting) and youre right.. its still not nearly as manual as it should be.. it should have a completely 100% manual setting....

I seriously think the ML is such a big hassle to play. It is an UN-NEEDEDly complicated system. I would like to see FULL leagues occurring, instead of dumb ML. Have real Spanish, English, Italy, German, France leagues going on, instead of a mix. Licenses would be great, but I know it will be difficult, because it is expensive, and sometimes you CAN'T have licenses from competing companies, like Nike AND adidas... it is not impossible, just not likely. I know FIFA has it because EA skimps on the gameplay and goes for presentation. It is a different audience all around.

The stats and players info is so readily available, since we have FOOTBALL MANAGER. It would be awesome if by Winning Eleven 11 or 12, the "ML" system would have leagues and teams and stats and attributes resembling FM. I wouldn't necessarily want to see more managerial aspects to the game, because I can play FM if I want to play manager. But at least revamp the ML and have a realistic league and calendar. As for Winning 9, I don't foresee Konami doing anything too drastic. I expect an even better game than WE8 or WE8LE, but the new stuff and changes won't be anything too grand. Probably just more teams, some new motions, etc.

I've been playing lots of WE8I since it came out two weeks ago and have three big fixes that I would love to see by WE9 (definitely doable).

1) Please when i tell a defender to man-mark an opponent aggresively, can he stay at least close to the guy. Also, I'm playing with classic Italy and tell Gentile (one of the toughest man-defenders ever) to cover guys like Robben or Landon Donovan (from USA) and he either completely loses these guys or gets totally schooled by their moves. It almost makes the man-mark option useless!

2) A big fix for ML has to be real leagues but also D2 for each league. This year there were enough cub teams to have 4 D2 leagues and have rel/promo for each league

3) How about wehen playing leagues and cups and ML, a game recap (with scorers, etc) for all the games played.

Great ideas from everyone.

Just played a few cup finals on 5*, and have worked out what Konami think makes the game harder:
1. Computer controlled players cannot be tackled by a mere mortal. They must be fouled, double (often triple) teamed or lose the ball themselves.
2. Your players must take their first touch with a beach ball.
3. Don't bother using through balls, they don't work anymore.
4. If you have the good fortune to get running in a promising situation with a defender, they foul you before you can accomplish anything and barely ever get a card (even if the last defender)
5. Your defenders must run away from their man before attempting to stop any through or over-the-top passes. I just watched a replay where a fairly easy to clear ball came in, but my defender, after the pass had been made, chose to run in front of the man and the ball, happens all the time. Watch replays of the computer controlled defenders, they actually get out of the way for the attackers off the ball.

I agree that multiplayer is the way to go, and this doesn't happen there. But seriously, for the next installment, I'd love to have a challenging, fair one-player experience. That's all.

- no slowdowns: and I mean really none, not a bit or a little, just NOTHING!
- no players running right through other players (like Baros, Koller, Ronaldinho etc. etc. -> unrealistic!) Even with Stam, Nesta, Terry or Samuel, an average Sparta Prague striker can run through them sometimes!
- a good red card system. You can disable a player for life and get away with yellow or 'a talking to' -> unrealistic
- tune down the stats of Premier League teams: OK, there are some good ones, but it seems that every English team is Champions League material in WE8 -> IMHO, unrealistic!

Everything else is mentioned here and I agree with most of the things. Gameplay and environmental issues are most important I think...

Why can't we get one of those Latin American Commentators, in the Spanish Lenguage, so that they can scream GOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL, when we score?
I've always wanted that in a soccer game.
I think European, Japanese, American, etc, have no heart when narrating a Game, they are so boring, they only say, GOAL Henry!, and that's it. wow.

Good points.I agree that gameplay, AI and physics are the most important stuff.
Don't care about kits and licenses and such...but as someone said ...
1.Arena atmosphere should be much better. To really "feel" the importance of a goal.
2.Someone said too that there should be more aggression.Exactly!! Defending in Pes/We looks like ppl playing in the park, no effort.Shots look like half-hearted too.
3. Where the analog pass at?Unusable as it is...bring back the old way.
4. Another thing gone wrong in recent versions: Try to through pass from OMF to WF ,often the CF will run away from the box to intercept that pass that was not meant for him anyway. Bad explanation but you elite-players get it.
5.I still score on over ½ of my corners. Yet the FK taking has no logic anymore and i haven't scored from over 30 meter since we7:I.
6.Waste of time shooting from 25-30meters.PLus u have to be in specific position in relation to ball and goal when running and shooting.Plus they shoot with their strong foot even in awkard positions.
7.No headers when outside the box when I press [] !! Damn who tries to score with a header from 25m.Why not make them wait til the ball is low enough for a volley or hit it with the laces.
8.More players running and moving off the ball.
9.I dunno if it was this way earlier but at least 3 ways of shooting. If i attack from left to right: []+ left = as hard as possible . []+ right = with the laces hard and accurate . [] = inside the foot . very accurate and lots of swerve. all types can be placed by up and down arrows too.I think it was this way earlier. not sure.
10.AI+physics+gameplay! Can't be emphasized enough
11.Ratings: Lots of players can be over 90 BUT only a select few every night... so
they should use that stability stat more.

Results at half time and full time of other games during cups as well, not just during league games (makes more sense during wefa championship league games).

Return of stats like WE6 follow consecutive wins etc ( see when teams are in good/bad form.

Better training system thats deosn't take an hour to do with a complete squad and i only do it once just before start of next season i couldn't imagine doing it during every week of the off season.

first and foremost...scrap all existing animation and start from scratch. when is seabass going to stop hiring god damn CRIPPLES to do motion capture acting? oh yeah...fancy a player hunch over like an alien when they chip the ball. just plain ugly and retarded. just hire real footy players and a motion capture supervisor who will let the player motions be realistic and natural......it's not that hard, really

secondly, jesus christ, dont get me started on the stadium turf patterns. again obviously seabass have cripples working in the gfx department to draw those fancy shitty ugly turf patterns (for eg la bombanera). heres a little hint..learn how to draw straight lines because it aint brain surgery FFS

Well, obviously English licences would be great. Also, they should bring back the World and Euro teams, generally improve gameplay, GK animations, and perhaps they could implement different weather systems, so it's light first half of the game, then dark the second half, like winter matches in England.

Allow you to play in ACTUAL real life leagues (eg English / Spanish, etc) in the Master league, rather than having to choose 1 of the 4 "mixed" leagues, which has random teams from every country. This would make it feel more realistic during the season, especially when you play against the best teams from other leagues in the WEFA cup games, etc.

I've restricted my wishlist to what the ps2 hardware can cope with, I realise a lot of these have been mentioned before on this thread, but I compilied this list before reading the post...

Anyhow heres my top 20 :-

1. ALL new features of WE9 to be configurable in the options screen - so if people dont like a new feature, they can switch it off, ie player ageing or referee on the pitch

2. No Slowdown! At all! No need to improve the visuals on the ps2, save it for ps3

3. More full-size leagues - So you can start in the 4th division (or lower) and work your way up to the top. At the moment a good player can complete everything the ML has to offer in 3 seasons (well 2 1/2 because of the tiny 2nd division)

4. Increased player animations - to make the play more varied, increased animations for player tussles, players slipping/losing balance etc.

5. More freedom to move the camera angle to where you would like it, more freedom to zoom out

6. No sharing chants between teams, the DVD is only 1/3 full! Even if they copy chants across lesser teams, at least the patchers can then alter them

7. The same for stadiums, there's no reason why each team cant have its own stadium slot, even if they cheat and copy the same stadium across many teams, at least then they can be edited.

8. More shot control, by being able to choose a low tap-in type shot, a medium height shot or a slower curled shot.

9. Have the ability to curl the ball manually with long passes/crosses/shots. Only allow high skilled players to do this, and dont overdo the amount of curl available (a la Sensi Soccer)

10. When a through ball is played to a team-mate, allow the player who passed the ball to keep running (instead of stopping them)

11. More enthusiatic commentary (english), more variation (still 3 Gb free on the DVD!)

12. Less pressure on defenders/midfielders from the opposing side at certain times. In real football a player can (sometimes) have plenty of time on the ball to be able to pick out a long range pass, without the opposing attacker always pressing them

13. More goals from free kicks/corners (but not too much, say 1 in 10 corners?)

14. More obvious tactical changes by the cpu - ie everybody back to defend a 1-0 lead in the last 5 mins.

15. Slightly more injuries + depressed players. I never have to change my starting 11 as much as a real life manager would.

16. Better, more patient build up play from good cpu teams. So that when they score against you feel like they took you apart, rather than them relying on a lucky deflection etc.

17. Penalties that require skill to score/save. Even something like the [] held for more power, at the risk of missing the net, or the alternative to use the Circle button to take a slower, more accurate and easier to save shot.

18. Allow the goalie to throw the ball out earlier to start a counter attack. Its your own fault if you rush it and the attacker steals the ball from you!

19. More in-game emotion (occasional, once every few matches), leading to nasty fouls, red cards, pushing and shoving etc.

20. Dont rely on speed to separate good/bad teams. Lower teams should have less skill, but they should not necessarily all be slow runners..

AgentSmithMatrix
2 March 05, 12:38
Do goalies ever save penalties which are bound for the top corner? I don't think so! So why do they in the game, it's totally unrealistic. They definitely need to change the penalty feature.

2) proper shooting animations, they seriously look unrealistic

3) proper gk animationse.g 1 handed saves, realistic punches, tip over the top saves... the gk seriously look like wood (football kingdom's goalies are not bad)

4) individual dribbling styles

5) appeal for foul button...

6) grass/mud coming out of the field when sliding or kicking

7) positioning of free kick walls and players during freekicks

8) nets of Football Kingdom (they really make u wanna score)

HOME or AWAY or HOME/AWAY RANDOM stadium, so when you start a friendly, if youre playing with milan vs manchester in HOME, you play in san siro, if the option is AWAY, you play in Old trafford, and if the option is the HOME/AWAY RANDOM, you play in one of these two.
should work between games, so whe the game is over, and you select 2 other teams, like chelsea vs barcelona, the options are stamford bridge or nou camp.

- Third kits
- Players injures during they run!!!
- See the team on the bench and the coach on the grass.....
- More teams
- Specific stats for GK (jump on the air, ability with his foot, on the ground etc....)
- Reintroduce like the "iss on Super Nintendo".....the scenaris.....(WC 2002...Euro 2004 etc...)
- More weather (snow.....rain.....etc..)

And many many others things but on the PS3....it would be possible and I hope the first WE on PS3 won't be so bad as the first one on PS 2 (WE 5, beurkkkkkkk, awful this game!!!)

i got a good idea from this

when there is free kicks, first you move the wall and then player control goes to the goalie and you just can move the goalie around the goal and the shot comes in and u can save it or miss it, this would be so cool instead of now , u cant control wall or keeper when the other team is taking the fk, u can only control after they release the ball which is not good....

I wish it was Q3 of 2006 already. :( But since WE9 comes first, I might as well just throw my new, original idea in:

- no bullshlt changing screens after the ball goes out of bounds. have like a 2d dude slide along the banners and throw the ball to the players. after a shot, have the camera follow the player, show his reaction then slide over to the goal and show the guy give the goalie the ball. no loading, the changing camera's, no interupting the flow, etc.

I would love to have the Stadium and crowd go absolutely ballistic when you score a goal at home and the crowd jeer when you score away and get quiter with every goal you score at your opponents house. I think that the FIFA series has done an awesome job with crowd reactions chants and celebrations. Konami should really do the same. Another great idea i read was the differnt styles of nets; colors, shapes, ect..

But hey realistically, is Konami gonna read this thread? Most likely not! Do what what the portuguese community did! For FIFA 99 request we mailed and emailed EA and asked for them to put in the Portuguese League and they did it! It lasted that one year then it was off for a few, but the point is it worked and I know Konami doesn't know what there fans want, as long as everyone asks for sensible things.

I would suggest that we all vote on things we wanted most and then everyone in the PES/WE communtity email and mail Konami and let them know how we feel by everyone sending them as close to the same request as possible.

LETS DO IT! IT CAN HAPPEN!

Blu-Ray on one layer only is 25 GB, it can hold up to 50GB with dual layer. And why this amount of space besides back up? Because of HDTV. HDTV is High Definition TV.

It(HDTV) is up to 1080p Which is 1920 1080 and all lines are handled at the same time while interlace is that only every 2nd line is handled at the same time. HDTV in Europe is a subset of DVB.

Though of course the whole Blu-Ray may not be used, but, it brings great flexibility in regards of space. Now you can dump a lot of different chants, and other data. I hope that PES5 will be a launch game for Xbox 360 (2). As Xbox 360 is coming Oct-Nov 2005 to the US and Europe. Xbox 360 is going to use DVD/DVD DL. While Sony is going to use Blu-Ray. Sony is one of the main players behind the Blu-Ray push.

There is also HD DVD. A nother standard. One layer is 15 GB, dual layer is 30 GB.

I want better game physics. tackling, dribbling, etc and ball physics was alot better in previous versions. Actually, it was completely different, loads and loads better it was.

I want the option to discuss the fouls etc. Like you tackle him you get yellow and tell to the ref that it was a schwalbe. Option to talk agrassivly and less agressivly to the referee.

Or if your man was brought down illegaly but you don't get a foult the option to press a button and then he would push the player a bit that tackled him or give him a kick from behind.

Stuff like that that are in real life too.

And I would want qualification rounds for both International and European cup.

Stewards going around the field, players warming up, the coaches coming out the box giving directions to players,...

Info for Blu-Ray http://www.blu-ray.com/info/
Info for HD DVD http://www.supermediastore.com/hd-dvd-media-hd-dvd-recorder.html

I though Blu-Ray could have over 120GB on 1 disc.

On that first site blu-ray.com I already see a reader station for in the PC by Pioneer. Now, WHEN IS IT COMING?! :p

I think with the release of the PS3.

Some of your suggestions are silly.

Some of you have said

"No slowdown"

Then suggested

"Teammates seen on the bench"
"3D fans"
"Ball boy"

etc.

I think without the referee there wouldn't be any noticeable slowdown.

I dunno about anyone else, but i think the highlights reel could be improved, also this game takes up far too much memory card space (PS2) - especially the replays! (possible usb mem stick- a la GT4 photo mode?)

One thing that really annoys me is when your player runs after the ball and knocks it off the pitch- why does the cpu seem to need to overide what direction i'm pressing and chase silly balls?

I would love to see and indefinite number of font numbers on the game, so we could add any to any team, wothout the restriction of four.

Benn_Black
12 April 05, 16:01
Intelligent use of substitutions. If you are leading with a few minutes to go the CPU should bring on another striker and push men forward, if the CPU is leading it should pull men back and occasionally throw on another defender. CPU tactics should change if you have a player sent off.

More red cards! When was the last time the CPU had a player sent off? I honestly can't remember it happening, ever. In 10 league matches in Serie A and the Premiership this weekend there were 6 red cards (3 in each league). Last week there were 6 in Serie A and 3 in the Premiership.

Correct tactics. Most of the tactics in this game are completely wrong. Have the developers ever heard of a flat back four? The wingers should play further upfield and hug the touchlines.

Keepers jumping for shots at the top corner and punching the ball 30 ft in the air has to go.

The ability to kick-up the ball from a standing position so you can juggle the ball off your knee or chest before volleying and also execute a rainbow kick (chilena). I know you can flick up a ball off your knee but the timing is too precise.

Ability to increase speed of the game by small percentages, not the pointless double speed crap.

- The single most pressing change would have to be the overall feel of SCORING A GOAL. As a lot of you have already mentioned to death, we want to WORK HARD for a goal and FEEL ECSTATIC when our hard work FINALLY pays off. A whimper of a cheer whenever we score is the most disgusting aspect that exists in all WE series and that has got to change if they want to continue earning our money. We want to feel the PASSION of football represented in the game. We want to see this:

http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=10QWHASSA6T8Y1QDGQ25MQKD4C

Just imagine for a second as if the clip above were a WE9 one, complete with the shooting bar at the bottom of the screen, and you've just scored through Totti. This is exactly what I need Konami to include in their games - the emotion of football. Of course, not every goal needs to be like that, but when I score the only goal in a Cup Final in the 89th minute, I expect ERUPTION and an unreserved expression of sheer joy, represented through the celebration aminations and audio approval. Sort it out, Konami.

- I don't give a tiny rat's ass about asthetics improvements because I think Konami is already pushing the limits of graphics for the PS2 very hard (and well) and I don't want their attention to be diverted towards making a beautiful game at the expense of a realistic one. We can all go play fifa if we want to see beautiful computer pictures.

- Presentation needs to be REVAMPED. I want the commentators' voices to overlap slightly when they're speaking because that's what happens in a live match, because both of them are equally excited about what happening and just wants to squeeze out random and unrehearsed comments into the microphone. I want a completely CHANGED style to mimick the TV presentation way in which when a player scores, the camera shakes just a little, the camera stays rooted for a couple of seconds at the goalmouth while you see his teammates running towards the same direction near the bottom of your screen (ie a lot of things happening around you but you can't see it! Brilliant..), it then cuts to a section of the (computer aminated) crowd going absolutely crazy.. THEN zooms into the celebrations where it has already been happening for a good 30 seconds.

- When I'm playing at home and just scored off a corner, the background curva visibly RISES together with the rest of the players' arms (when non-scoring players react to their team's goals they normally raise an arm or jump) in celebration of a goal. I want to see stewards and ball-boys standing beside the advertising hordings at one side of the pitch jump for joy at the same time; the overall feel that the stadium has just ERUPTED has to be present. It's not just about sliding the volume bar of the crowd cheer up a notch, Konami. It's about subtle details.

- Remove all the stupid dribbling moves. I want this game to be dominated by people who have a footballing brain, not by people who have mastered the art of button combinations or timing.

- All my grouses from WE8 seem to have already been addressed in WE8LE. My paet peeves were 1. How it was so easy to turn defenders by first running up, then suddenly running down. Space was created instantly and it's almost fool proof. I could do this up-down move 10 times in a row in an opponent's penalty box with the opposing defender getting faked out everytime; it's soooo arcade-y. 2. How it was ridiculously easy to chip the keeper. When I was playing the PC version of WE8i with online opponents, I was thrashed double-digit figures by human opponents who simply put a really fast forward in the middle of my defence (typically Henry), slot him a through ball and let him lob it over my keeper, even when I was putting 10 men behind the ball. It's a 2-button move and they managed to score the exact same way 10 times each half. No real skills were involved - just very smart people who managed to capitalise on the flaws of the game. 3. Dribbling is dead easy on we8 and a fast player always equates to a good player in the game. Not true in real life, Konami.

- I hope through balls can be much more difficult to pull off. Spaces should be all but covered up in WE8 so that only 1 in probably 20 through balls gives you a one-on-one situation with the keeper; the other 19 times the defenders should be able to cut it out or clear. The risk of pressing the through ball button must be increased because it represents a difficult (and almost always possesion-losing) pass in real life and should be reflected as such in the game.

i agree with one of the previous posts and think that you should be able to get sent off for dissent or retaliation etc

Also how about adboards that change for every stadium, every stadium in the world doesnt have the same adboards. electronic ones like in europe :-) (that would be nice)

Dare i say that this will be on Xbox 360 in December?

More realistic corners etc. why is there only 4 attacking players in the box most of the time? why cant you choose who comes up, eg for chelsea always make terry, gallas and carvalho come up for corners like they do, and the way that bridge and makelele always stay back. also the way in which players dont attack the ball from deadballs, the computer just makes 2 players, 1 from each team go for it, why not players attack it, the box should be packed with bodies.

-Also more faces, why only 20 faces of black/coloured players?
-Why cant we access the default hairstyles of players, as david backham has grown his hair, i think kezman has good default hair that would fit, why cant i assign that hair to beckham also?
-Why does every 'short' hair style have stupidly short shaved hair on the side, the game needs more medium length hair styles.
-Kit-editor selection is a joke.
-Why can big slow robert huth magically catch up thierry henry when henry has the ball? sort it out konami.
-stop scripting the game, why do my players always manage to foul someone when they would end-up clean through on goal? and always miss penalties in master league mode?
- make players come ot the ball! first thing you get taught in football!
- make players attack crosses more, why do most wait for it to drop on their head!?
- also why do players try and head it when you want them to hit a screaming volley, yet try a screaming volley overhead when all they have to do is head it?
- crowd nosies and how the crowd look is a joke.
- someone who has a gcse in english to write the commentary script.
- more types of penalty, why cant you slam it bottom corner? why cant you place it top corner?
- better kit colours in edit mode, there seems to be every colour except the one you want. everything is either to light or to dark.
- make faster players faster. henry has 99 for all speed and dribble speed attributes, yet vornander cam catch him?

In short you want to hear the blood curdling roar.

I agree the circus tricks are largely pointless. One of my major gripes with this game that still hasn't been addressed is the CPU players running vertically and further back when pressed, they should pass the ball back. The AI is in this game is no better than FIFA or FIFA Street. It really is inexcusable.

when, for example, Figo gets the ball in real life defenders never dive straight in
because they know he will skip past them.

Well yeah but there'a a lot more than that.. if you read my previous post in full you would have noticed I addressed all that I feel is neccessary to convey the passion of the sport into a football game.. it's not just about the bloody roar. :)

For one thing I would like to see things like players hurdling over advertising boards to join in the fans in celebration of an important goal. The fans are an integral part of the actual sport but precious little is represented in the game. That's what takes a lot of "feeling" away from the game.

Add the 2nd forward position (2nd Top/Shadow Striker) to separate strikers from forwards. A position where the player floats between the CF and OMF position. This should put an end to the CF/OMF pattern that does not correspond and has being going on for years for players who are natural Shadow strikers like Del Piero, Raul, Bergkamp, Tomasson, Ronaldinho and for others that play this as a secondary position.

Here's the picture kind of:

As main position

Bergkamp, Del Piero, Cassano, Zola, Di Canio, Mutu, Jose Reyes play Second Top, not OMF nor CF

Totti, Ronaldinho, Recoba play Second Top and also can play OMF, but not CF

Raul, Tomasson Franca play Second Top and also CF, but not OMF

Rivaldo plays Second Top and also OMF and CF

As secondary position

Adriano, Gudjohnsen, Larrson, Etoo, Ronney, Kluivert (CF's),van Persie (LW) play Second Top, not OMF

Giggs (WG),Scholes (CMF), Djorkaeff (OMF), Ljungberg (SMF), Pires (OMF), Kaka (OMF) play Second Top not CF

...and so on with the rest (get the picture?)....

-Add the Wingback position.A position where the player floats between the SB and SMF position. Players that play on the side of 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 3-6-1 formations play as wingbacks not side midfielders.

-Instead of having only the classic uniform selction (home/home, home/away, away/home, away away) there should be the classic uniform selection plus an option to combine the all the uniforms (shirts, socks, shorts) the way you like as in to simulate real life kit clashing

-Real time: instead of having the option day or night, it would be better to have a range of time say 12 noon to 9pm, in this way the shadows in the stadiums would change and the light of the day would also change if I start playing a match at 5pm (daylight) after halftime I would be playing the match at sunset, and a few minutes later at night. A similar thing should happen with weather.

-Special ability stars: Have different types---yellow, orange and red like normal stats so that there are players that are better in a given special ability and perform it more often than others.

For e.g.

Henry:

Dribble *
Running out *
Side player *
B.F. Feint *
1vs1 shooter *

Bergkamp:
Playmaker *
Dribble Keep *
B.F. Feint *
1vs1 shooter *
Direct play *
Outside *

Totti:
Running out *
Playmaker *
1vs1 shooter *
Direct play *
Outside *

Ronaldo:

Dribble keep *
Running out *
B.F. Feint *
Positioning *
Striker *
1vs1 shooter *

etc, etc

-Different sized pitches (Highbury small pitch, Nou Camp large pitch, etc, etc) .

-Fix player opposite foot accuracy and frequency A.I.

The weak foot accuracy and frequency stats have never worked right since their introduction in the WE series. I've seen Rivaldo kick the ball like a thousand times with his right foot in the game. Even if you edit both stats to 1 the player will still kick the ball with his opposite foot a lot of times.

Another thing Konami keeps doing(just like normal stats not being lower than 50) is setting the weakest foot accuracy at 3, so I don't really see the point in having a 1 to 8 scale...

Players with opposite foot accuray from 5 to 8 (normal to excellent) should have a default preferred foot for fk's, corners and pk's: Right / Left / Both (switches foot automatically depending on the angle). Like Forlan or Wesley Sneijder who switch foot depending on the the side of the pitch or the angle they're kicking from; Nicolas Olivera (Uruguay) who plays with his left but kicks penalties with his right foot; Maldini or Iuliano who switch foot when making long feed fk's, etc.

So for e.g.

Maldini:
Foot-Right
Opposite foot accuracy-8
Opposite foot frequency-8
FK foot-Both
CK foot-Right
PK foot-Left

Sneijder:
Foot-Right
Opposite foot accuracy-8
Opposite foot frequency-6
FK foot-Both
CK foot-Both
PK foot-Right

Forlan:
Foot-Right
Opposite foot accuracy-8
Opposite foot frequency-8
FK foot-Both
CK foot-Both
PK foot-Both

In addition to this, implement a ingame switch foot button for dead ball situations (Press R2 and the player will switch foot)

-Fix the god damn keeper animations, set them back like they used to be in WE5/WE6 (get rid of the save all with two hands goalkeepers) Long pants for keepers.

-PK should be like normal freekicks (using the power bar, adding curve or power, high or low) That would be more realistic than the current penalty kick system that's been going on in the WE series for some years now....players should also take runs before they kick like in real life (Short runs: F. de Boer/Figo; Long runs: van Nistelrooy)

-Tape on socks and wristbands should look better ingame from far angles (they look too "thin" and tend to "disapear"). Different types/colors of wristbands. High tape on socks (Gallas).

-Ankle socks (Kallon, Cristiano Ronaldo)

-CPU controlled teams never use the switch side strategy, this should be fixed

-Team management options:Assigning what players do in defensive and offensive FK situations like in CM: stay inside/outside the box, stay in midfield, stay in the left post, stay in the right post, etc.

I like quite everything in the game, and one thing that i hate but they finally correct in we8le is that everytime that u do a transfer from the edit menu and u want to edit this player that u transfered, well he's still on the former team!!!So it was really annoying to go back in the former team and edit the player, cause most of the time i forgot from where i bought it!!!But finally they did right...
-Ok, about the w9, well Konami, please just make in the konami cup an option to play home and away game, like in the champions league, i mean in the group stage.
-And also please, make better the shoots...they really sucks.Sometimes i ask myself how is it possible that my player score with the left foot 'cause it was perfect 4 the right one!!!!
-Licences of all clubs and nationals.
-A different angle to shoot a penalty.
-Different ways to shoot a penalty.

i think it's not to much askin'...

fantomas23
18 April 05, 14:15
- game speed slider!!!
- exact same PK system as in ISS64 + power bar
- more free kick variations (up to 3 players, normal fk styles for both players if 2 lining up)
- longer run up for those fk styles with only one step
- players dont react at all when they are close to crosses being whipped in/powerful shots coming straight at them
- can control every facet of attacking & defending in dead ball situations (free kicks + corners). this includes positioning, player's roles etc etc
- computer AI players still press unnecessarily and too often - eg strikers charging towards GK with the ball and opposition defensive line. also, players more than often stand their ground waiting (sometimes even backing off step by step) for the opponent with the ball to make his move before challenging for the ball. in this department AI still has a long way to go.
- GKs need to be more animated - leaping, jumping around like in real life
- very high rate of GKs diving full stretch and catching balls on the foul with both hands from free kicks. GKs save alot by just by palming the ball to the ground and conveniently picking it up. both very unrealistic and needs to be fixed
- stadium pitch editor - can adjust tone of green, draw up turf patterns
- winter day games can begin with daylight in first half then night in 2nd
- empty space in the game for stadiums + teams so that patchers can easily insert more without having to replace anything (never going to happen but...)

1st Issue: ADJUST THE FUCKING DEFENCE!!!! There are a lotta people who like to play defensively, who said attacking is the only way to play a match?

2: If Konami doesn't wanna buy more licenses, then twould be nice to have a much better in-game editor. Also the possibility to edit National Teams as well as licensed ones would be cool.

3: Much more real keepers. Please, they seem to be 6-8 kids learning how to keep.

4: Slow the gameplay down! C' mon, no team could hold that rythm for a whole match, players do get tired, they're human beings.

5: Personally, I would feel nice to see the Mexican League on it just as Fifa did this year. Even though you think of it as low-level stuff, it actually is one of the best in America, I must say the 2nd or 3rd in order together with Brazilian an Argentinian leagues. If you can't believe me, just research on how Mexican teams are doing in Copa Libertadores 2005.

6: More free teams to edit.

7: More defensive special abilities.

8: More strategical options such as game delaying, shirt tugging, and injuring; although they're cheating stuff, they actually go on in real life.

9: More boots and a deeper editing system.

10: Create yer stadium option, or at least, include more American and African stadiums. I'd like to see "Estadio Azteca", I guess it's much more important than Sapporo Dome or that kinda bullshit cos' Pelé, Maradona, and other soccer stars played there... as well as how could soccer fans forget 'bout Argentina-England or Italia-Deütschland games played on its field!

11: Players warming up and coaches shouting on the sidelines would be fine!

Hope some points get accomplished on the next game. At least ADJUST THE DAMN DEFENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks...

im not a man of many wants and wishes.

just make the players have 360 movement and the ability to high pass to anyne one the team, near or far.

also make the players contrll the ball, instead of letting it bounce.

also, better shot animations

fuck anything else, i just want improvements on the pitch, none of this editing crap or cutscenes just make the damn gameplay more realistic.

• Two player master league where you can be two different teams and both build up your sides form scratch

However, I realise there is more chance of one of my turds building a rocket and flying to Mars.
LOL

Other than the obvious stuff like a massive increase in leagues/teams/manager/career stuff (at least SWOS level), one silly little thing I'd like to see is shot speed displayed in goal replays, simple to calculate and good for bragging rights :)
Good idea!

Replays:

* Possibility to play in real time (from any of the camera angles that are available in-game) and WITH sound. How often do you score a great goal, only for the replay speed (slow) and no sound to make it appear less than great!?
* Calculate shot speed and distance (you should be able to choose metres or yards in options)

']15 slots for boots (5 editables & 10 non-editables)
Why 15? With the amount of room one pair of boots would take up, you could realistically have every boot ever manufactured, plus a few prototypes thrown in for good measure

someone who has a gcse in english to write the commentary script
They've made every language produce the same strings of commentary, "nice idea" is in the Jap version, in the same context as the English.

Some of the things Peter Brackley comes out with just sound pathetic, if they left him and Trevor Brooking to their own devices it'd sound so much more realistic (Brackley is a very good commentator when unscripted).

They should improve the management side

Have other clubs offer you jobs and have the chance of getting fired.
This would allow you to continue well into the game after you get bored at one club and players aging would be more effective.

Randomness of player growth so each time you play you have to scout players and not just buy the same ones.

Natural Growth of players even if they do not feature in first team every game

Proper transfer market list of players for sale

proper currency and no money for wins, acctual gate receipts so if doing badly less fans = less money

Sponserships and Chairman who are happy or unhappy with performance

hopefully this stuff will be included on PS3

You know what would be cool? If the game had real managers for every team.
What I mean is that each team in the game would have a manager plus there would be a pool of free agants from which you can assign to teams if you want to update the game. They would also have appearances like the players and would also be seen on the touchline during the games. But thats not the interesting past.
Each manager has his own set of stats such as formation, strategy, motivation, training, etc, which go up to 99 like player stats. These would affect how a team would play under that manager. For example, the formation stat would determine how well the team can keep the structure of their formation. If the stat was low, players would slowly move out of position during the games so defenders might play too far up the pitch or strikers would start to move too far back. The strategy stat would affect how well the team performs the L2 strategy so if the stat was low and you ordered the team to counter attack, some players wont listen to you.
The good thing about this is that if you have a good manager but a not so good team, you could still play well like how Porto did with Mourinho.
The fun part of this is that in the Master League, your team doesnt have a manager because you're the manager. Depending on how well you play, YOUR managerial stats develop.

I could go on for hours about the cheating, but I know it aint getting fixed.

So in its place I want more licensced leagues, maybe English, French and German, along with the Italian, Dutch and Spanish, its a start.

Alot more un-licensced teams to choose from, and a more extensive edit feature, because thats all I do these days is edit things.

I aint really bothered about the ML, but they could make it divisions instead of the crap it is now, thats all I would want for ML.

Sorry if this was said, but I would love to see some sort of player morale system in master league a la madden and most other recent american sports games(in addition to all teams and leagues of course). By this I mean, if you sign a new striker and decide to bench your incumbent, or randomly just decide not to play a player very much, the player should take a morale hit, and if it gets bad enough, they might ask for a transfer. This would add a lot to team management, and at the same time keep you from having an allstar team where you have ronaldo, van nistelrooy, and gerrard sitting on the bench every game. You should also have to fight a lot harder to keep star players, especially if you are a middle of the pack team, ie. real madrid goes after your players and you have to decide whether you can compete to sign the player financially, or if the player decides they want to go to this team with higher prestige and you refuse, they lose morale (obviously effecting their play). Basically, add more personality to the master league!!

Dont know if anyone has mentioned it but cup tied players would be a good addition.

I wish they would bring back gameplay in favour of scripted cheats

I have thought of a few more.

I want to be able to position the wall at free kicks.
I want to be able to slightly move my keeper when defending free kicks because I always know where my mate is going to aim.
Able to move along your line when trying to save a pen.

Yeah,

Agree with this, since attacking player has options to choose what type of freekick and al that, migh as well use the same button combos for defensive player as well. (e.g add/reduce men from wall), position wall, poasition other players.

Controls revert back to normal upon freekick excution.

- despite being the most realistic football sim out there, WE8LE still has arcadey elements in it. examples 1. every single back heel pass comes off dead straight with bullet like pace and conveniently ends up with a teammate no matter how good/shite that player executing it is. 2. every player (including GKs) without * next to both feet feint can execute it without any problems. these things have to be fixed.

- make passing more difficult...direction and distance of passes are manually controlled

- player controlling GK in a PK situation can move along his line as someone mentioned previously but can also determine how far he stretches dives

- i think it's about time that the AI is massively improved by having teams from different regions possess own playing style (doesn't mean italian teams dont use long balls...just very sparingly)

I've said it before and i'll say it again...... they have got to improve the league structures "stupid ML set up" and add a hell of a lot more to the management side of the game, it's not as if their short of space on the disc or don't have the knowhow WET??

My wishlist is simple:

- A Decent MULTIPLAYER Master League - ML is crap. it's for infants who have loads of hours to kill playing against dumbass CPU. Real players know WE is fun playing against decent human challengers. ML must go multiplayer to make it fun and worthwhile. A league I can play with my friends, everyone buying, selling delopting.. saving it to continue another day.. that's a ML that makes sense.

- A Champions League kind of cup - for goodness sake... not having the change to play a cup in the same model of the CL it's so ridiculous there is not words to describe it.

- Decent crossing and heading - once again please. No need to make it as easy as in PS1 but making it a mathematical challenge that requires usage of NASA calcs is too demanding.

- Bring back the tight kit 3d models, classic shorts, etc - Or my "Classicos" won't be as fun :).

- If possible please make keepers AI a bit better, although I can imagine that is one of the most difficult parts of the AI programming.

The most realistic version yet is Winning Eleven 6 J-League. Damn thats a frigging 3 year old game and its still the best version by a mile distance.

The cpu plays like crap, cant keep possession at all, and through balls are kinda weak, but still, everything and I really mean everything that been bugging me to hell with recent versions is fixed here. In multi player its just gold.

The physics, collisions is great. There's always a logic and reason where the ball ends up, no more random bounciness to nowhere. There's no speed cheating but still remains perfectly balanced and getting past players is still a great challenge. AI is the best yet. Players ALWAYS trying to move into space, always switching positions, etc. The pitch textures are great and ALOT better than in recent versions, other graphical details such as faces and hair sucks though. But who cares? The only time you have any joy out of those things is during cut-scenes and who watches that crap anyway. I know I dont. Above all, the control is close to perfect. Passing, dribbling, accelerating and slowing down feels rieght as it should. Its all just terribly well shafted and extremely balanced. Even the camera is much better, the wide camera is at exactly the distance I want it to be at, not too far out as with recent versions.

Its really the greatest game ever. WE8:Liveware is a joke in comparisson.

take the SWOS league code and add in Pro Evo gameplay...Job done on the ML front.
look at ball physics, the ball doesn't just die enough when it hits players etc.
sound effects more dynamic like FIFA (Yes I said it FIFA) hate the game but love the signing the score thing...
Goalkeeper AI (hate when the cross just goes past them and they watch as a player heads it in then dive...

I agree with pretty much everyones ideas in this thread.

Being really into the visual side of things though the main points id like sorted are:

Improved player models. I preferred the slim line look of we7:int, it just looked more life like. players looked all beefed up and unrealistic.

More editing options, like more boot slots etc.

silly things like some players having the shirts untucked etc

Ive got a much bigger list, but they defo wont be implemented untill the ps3

Football Manager and WE9 merged into one game. *wakes up*

ML = merge SWOS Carreer Mode with WE
Customs Tournaments = use SWOS again, and try to do some necessary slight adjustment.
Also use SWOS (or even Fifa 98 RTWC) to see how a Road To World Cup Mode should be done instead of that Nippon Challenge thing (which is better than nothing at least it should mean they will add some more international squads)

Also very important would be the ability to get job offers from other clubs on ML (SWOS Career Mode had this of course).

Of course I don't believe this will happen, at Konami's pace maybe in 50 years...more realistically I'd be happy to get some more leagues (Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, Argentina and Brazil at least) and some divisions for the most important ones. And a Road To World Cup Mode.

first of is to improve the netcode and make the game realise that if there aint enough data coming through (which would cause lag) that the game ends in a draw.

thats what i want stop these bitches (when the meet someone half decent) from cheating

oh and as long as i can remember the goal kicks are crap why cant i short pass to the other side thats just stupid how come they havent fixed that.

They should use WE9 to experimant on before the next gens come out.
Take a risk change the master league.
Better crowd noise especially when a goal is scored.
I would like booing if you lose at h
