You can play as the default ML crew - Castello, Vorlander, Huygens etc.....
or you can play as the real club that you choose, with all their players.

It'll be interesting to see the progress of youth players as their stats increase.
I remember on WE8 that if you create someone good and try to buy him for your team, his wages will be ridiculously hgh - so watch it!

Keep an eye on the rating you get too.

I thought someone might start this thread soon after bumping up the PES3 ML thread. ;) It should get up and running nicely once the game is released.

I reckon i'm going to take advantage of the lovely licensed kits and start a ML, with the real players, in the Italian or Spanish League. A minnow, of course. I wouldn't have it any other way. :D Perhaps a club like Palermo, Atalanta, Fiorentina, or maybe Sampdoria again. In Spain, perhaps Espanyol, Malaga or Osasuna. I'll see at time, but it's likely to be a club like these.

I look forward to sharing my adventures with you all.

You can edit them yourself Prof after you unlocked master league edit mode. Otherwise they're just random.

This Season i will be mostly playing as Boavista, beginning in the Iberian Second division using default players.


Would i be correct in saying that the option above (number 3) allows you to start from the beginning with a completely new squad of various selected crapsters ?

If so, I fancy the idea of reviving the once great Napoli using all kinds of cast offs from the minnows of the Dutch/Italian/French leagues.

Good that this thread has "resurrected"....the former one was the thread i enjoyed most, nice people too and they are back: denirobob, the prof, Don,... (where's Metallica???)
My first ML i will start with a French team: Metz or perhaps Nantes
Afterwards i would like to play with teams like Bolton, Charlton, Athletic de Bilbao, and other litle teams in big competitions. (with the actual team).
Something i want to attempt too (and which will have not much appeal for you people) is make a Euroleague with "big clubs from litle leagues): Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Anderlecht, Brugge, Porto, Benfica, Sporting, the Old Firm,Sparte Prague, Panathinaikos, Olympiakos, AEK Athens and maybe a couple of Scandinavian teams (WE & PES United).
If all is well i should have PES 4 during next week (thursday or friday???). I'm looking forward to it.

One of the idea's behind going Boavista was that Joao Pinto & Tonito from Sporting Lisbon were in the game and could be transfered to PES or WE utd then , you could (i assumed) pick both of those chaps plus some other random rubbish Portuguese fellow too to make up the 3 and use PES or WE as the basis for your club.

I wish this was true!! and i'm hoping it is GFK but i think you might be wrong.

I would've loved to see an option for us to loan OUT players to other teams so they get more playing time but option wasn't there in WE8.

you could trade your players or put them on transfer list and hope somebody makes a bid.

i would've also liked to see option of trading 2 players for one but it's not there... but whatever :)

I started with Real. SOme questions: am I right that in PES3 all the teams were playing in master league? In PES4 there is only 72 teams.... ??? And what about young players? I know that "young" players gains experience, but that way they can only get +1 of stats in year! Also, please correct me - in PES3 we had to pay salary after every game, yes? Not at the start of the season?
I also think that "quick search" options is very shitty one -> it's just to easy to get good players in first negotiations for very little amount of money.

One of the things that pissed me off in PES4 is that the development curves are different from WE8. Guys like Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney and Fabregas don't grow as much in PES4 as they did in WE8.
But I also noticed that players with great potential play better earlier in PES4 than they do in WE8.

I play on 6* and have 10min games and I got a hatrick against Roma with Rooney on his first game.

Hell! Struggled my team (Numancia with Classic Master League players - Castolo, Vornander, Espimas etc.) to the negotiations period, and was one point behind the leader of the league. Bought Emile Mpenza and Deflandre, and was -1004 in Financial Balance. Stupid as I am, I play with auto save, so the game just saved and displayed "GAME OVER" in the Master League main screen. Damn!

That's really stupid of Konami, they should at least wait till the end of the season, and if you have negative balance then, then it should be GAME OVER, but not in the first negotiations period. Well, have to start a new master league then, but this time with real players. Can't stand those classic players.

Dude it's really not that complicated plus whatever PES3 had in ML , PES4 will have and MORE so you better learn quick because this one will seem even more complicated in your eyes since player's have growth sheets and etc. now!! And it's a shame if you dont play ML again because its the game's greatest part.

I'd be willing to help you out... teachin you whatever you want but really its not that hard... plus there are help screens in the game so why not make effort and learn (wages are how much you offer players of course and when you want to buy someone you can either spend ALL CASH or trade in a player plus a little cash or 0 cash and see if they accept).

p.s. so has anybody managed to LOAN out a player.... or is it not possible as i think its not and it was just bullshit we heard earlier ;)

I wish there was though that way you could send players you didn't think could get into the team to get first-team football elsewhere kinda like Real did with Javier Portillo.

Personally in WE8 I play as Newcastle with the rest of the English clubs then fill up the spaces with Real Madrid and Juventus to help make it a challenge, right now I'm about 9 games from the end of the season and 2nd to Man Utd by 3 points closely followed by Juventus, Real & Arsenal :)

So it's very bad that we have to pay in advance for a full year. What about situation when we sell the player in the middle of the season? Will we get a refund?

Ok after reading various post in different threads I have come to the conclusion that it may be detrimental to the ML game to unlock 'classic teams' and players.

This is because they will re-spawn as 17 yo's with the same name, and you'll end up with a lot of brilliant players in different teams.

Am I correct in thinking this?

Played about a season and half so far. I'm Juve with their real team. I came 3rd in the first season, Del Piero is on the decline though, but Nedved is still improving!

At the end of the season I bought 3 class players for very cheap. First was an OMF called Ono. Really good, and decent at free kicks. 2nd was someone called Chapi. Not sure if he's a regen but he's got acceleration of 97 and Aggression is like 97 or 98! He's only 17 as well and can improve loads according to his growth curve! Lastly was someone called Takahara. He is utter class. Scored in all games so far (about 9) and he's keeping Del Piero out of the side. He's scored some class goals too (see my goal thread). :D

I'm really enjoying it, didn't think id like ML that much but i've been proved wrong :)

No I think they still have them but I don't think they are the players with 1 year remaining left on their contract... I'm not sure. I got a free but I don't remember their remaining contract time.
No, I think you pay them at the END of the season, not in advance. I don't remember seeing a dialogue at the beginning of my Master League game showing the payment for the players.

Yeah, I also wanna know where the free-agents are. Players with just one year to go, you can't make him an offer, for free, to go to your team! This is because for some reason, his team is the first one who can ask this player to stay! And most of the time, I think, this player will stay. So at last there will be no free-agents anymore. But somebody who knows how this really works?

yeah but those "FREE AGENTS" aren't the ones we're talking about ;)!

The ones we're talking about is players who's contract is running out and so you can get them on a Bosman (for free) and they have a club in the game.

the ones you're talking about aren't really FREE AGENTS its just that the club they play for either isn't in the game like Shakhtar or not in your ML competition.

since only like 76 teams can be active in ML in 4 1st divisions and one 2nd division consisting of 8 teams.

that means lets say if you choose to do a realistic:

English LEague - French League - La Liga and Seria A

with 8 teams from German league for example in division 2.

all the players from other teams not participating in ML like Ajax, rest of German teams, Porto and etc. will become FREE AGENTS!!! but they're not real free agents and you stlil have to pay for them.... but their cost is usually lower than when you're buyin a player from an active club in ML!

Free agents we'd like to know about what happened is those whose contract is running out and can come to you or other teams for FREEE because they won't renew their contract with their old club.

Having played the OPM demo of PES4 solidly for the last few days I've noticed a HUGE amount of penaltys. Only for me mind, I find that even the slightest of nudges results in the ref giving a pen.

Can anyone tell me if this is the case in the finished game?

have a question, if i move mexes from his old club to Roma and then start a ML will he be on Roma or will he still be on Auxerre ? because i know that if you edit a player the new stats wont show up in a ML...also..whats the deal with Star abilities ...if your training a player like C Ronaldo or just any young or regular player will they get a star for passing if i continue to make good passes with the player ?...or are star abilities able to be edited in edit mode and actually go through to the ML..hope im clear with what im asking...thanks

Yes I understand what you're saying.

Here's the things that carry over to ML thankfuly:

- Edited positions

- Star abilities (passing, dribbling, etc.)

- Appearance

- Basic settings (injury proness, Foot. goal celebratoin etc.)

But anythign in the abilities section such as Speed or stamina or even weak foot accuracy or consistency and condition will revert back to DEFAULT when you start ML.

Having started an ML season yesterday, I played three games with the Saints and original players, and I couldn't score a single goal!

I lost to Man U 1 - 0, beat Ajax 1 - 0 (own goal!) and drew 0 - 0 with Fulham, I must've had at least 10 shots per game all of which seemed to go straight at the keeper or wide!

Is it just the fact that saints aren't that good? Or is it REALLY hard to score now??

I always managed to score with Castollo, Huygens etc.

I play on 3 stars, and did a season on 4..problem I have is that I just cant seem to score outside the box, maybe 1 goal out of 50 is out the box, the others are inside the box..

Hell yea, me and my cousin won everything there is to win in a season, yet no players will join our team?..we even tried to buy Cisse, and he declined, I mean wtf?

When we just started with another team we could swap Cisse for a shit player, now he wont come for 15k?

Its like the more you win, the less players wanna join, even though it should be the more you win, the more players will wanna join..

Like Henry and Real Madrid players, they never have anymore than 1 star, most of the time 0, yet we rape there teams everytime we meet?..I dont understand it one bit.

And we are 14th in WEFA..

And another funny thing, I get NO injuries in 1 season, yet as soon as I put it up to 4 stars I get 3, Vaart away for 16 weeks, Rooney for 6 and Ferdinand for 5..bollocks.

And also, C. Ronaldo used to cruise up every game, now he aint even improved by one percent in a whole SEASON..4 stars sucks. And he basicaly plays every game.

Just started a master league with match mode players and I had to be Charlton Athletic as I support them and I thought it would be a fair challenge on 5 stars with original players. I'm doing pretty well so far, currently sittting 4th in the Barclays Premiership, (I started in division 1 by the way).

The master league is so good now, I just feel there's a completely different atmosphere to just playing a normal cup or a league. You can just feel that the Master League means a lot more. The player development idea is really good and also having to train for a while to get your players fit!

Havn't had any negotiations periods yet, but I'm going to try to sign Freddy Adu when I can!

That would be crazy, wouldn't it? You'd have played one season and maxed out all their abilities. Younger players who play frequently, and do well, will improve quicker. Someone like a Rooney pr a Ronaldo could be improving in certain areas by 15-25% of a point each good game (in my experience).

Essien improves by 3-4% at the begining (slow) but after a while he was imrpving 10-15% for me after each game not to mention he has very good stats from the begining anyways.

yes and it's especially fun when its a young player you haven't heard of or didn't KNOW he was goin to have this much potential (unlike Rooney and C. Ronaldo) that the whole world knows will turn out to be magnificent.

that's why sometimes i try to not to read ML threads even though i want to participate because they keep giving out names..... but it ruins the fun because next time in ML you see that name.... you know most likely he'll turn out good but if you didn't know... it'd be a gamble and perhaps you'd go for another youngster who turns out to be crap :) which would be fun.

SO i wish we could have a rule where people would stop saying names :

OK people, i have started a Master League. After much consideration I have decided to play as Cagliari, with the real players.

First up i faced Palermo at home. It started well with 2 goals within minutes of eachother in the first half. Palermo fought back to earn parity midway through the second half. But with about 10 mins left on the clock, striker Mauro Esposito fashioned a great goal after a neat one-two with Daniele Conti.
Indeed, all 3 of my strikers in my 4-3-3 formation, netted on the opening match, Bianchi, Langella and Esposito.

Started one with my mate tonight.

Playing as Arsenal and the highlight of the night was going 2 goals down inside 10 minutes to Calgari.

We then turn on the style and manage to nab 3 goals before half time to make it 3-2 to us. Bergkamp, Lauren and Henry with the goals.

2nd half kicks off and we are schooling them. Manage to get another goal to make the final score 4-2 thanks to Henry.

Really good.

If you go to the search option and search by team you see an icon like a t-shirt with a '?' in it, 'Un Belong' I think it's called these are all the young players not belonging to a team.

fabregas similiar to milner but different positions fabregas also updates dramitically (arsenal)
a goalkeeper called lewis dont know where from but he is 17 and amazing
avoid players inzaghi injured over anything deisler as well cassano he is terrible reyes terrible also

baros , rooney , torres , cisse , saviola , as you notice all these players are young as younger players are better and you get more from them always try to build a big youth team also having players with experience

yeah, on 6*, i only got 8.0 a few times. it's ok, as long as i stay unbeaten!:D "it's a team effort" is my excuse. i'm happy when my whole backline get 7's!

i'm playing on 5*, and am arsenal with the proper players, and am struggling to win my matches. they practically mark henry out the game, as soon as he gets the ball about 5 tackles come flying in. all you can really do with him is just lay it off to someone else

Nothing beats practice. But....

Look for players making runs off the ball, also look for the through ball it's a lot better this time around.

You often find your wingers making good runs so keep an eye on them. The three circle cross is quite deadly now.

Also when 1 on 1 sometimes it's better to sprint past the keeper rather than take him on. Kind of draw him out whilst running normaly then sprint past him at an angle and tap into an empty net.

I think you can only increase stats by training, in the pre-season.

Aye, in the pre-season when you do the training, you get team or individual, they rip up in stats..

I suppose if you spend an hour on that your players will go up quite a bit.

And the ratings are shit, Ive had players scoring 4 goals and only get a 7, while someone who scored 1 goal got a 7.5..wtf?

Even if the cpu strikers play pish, if they score 20 mins before the end thats a definate 7.0/5.

It only works at the end of each season, when you do the transfers..

Im sure you can, what I do is this:

I do all the Individual with one player, then do some teams..end the training, and go back into it. When you end it, the week stays the same so you can just keep going back into it etc..

But Im sure you can do all the Individual for each player, who knows.

You get like Dribble Challenge, Shooting, FK and Long Pass..thats all I remember.

For Team you get like Passes, Attack and Offence, cant remember the others.

Its good, because the players improve alot, Vaart went up by about 40% on FK Acc, more than he went up in 2 seasons :p

Ill have to try this with C. Ronaldo as he just isnt improving by 1% now, wonder wtf is happening.

Started ML a few hours ago (up nearly all night playing). I started with Milan (full, proper squad). 5 stars. I've been doing pretty well. But I completely messed up when it came to the transfer window. The first day of transfers I spent trying to get Martins (failing), the same with the second (failing again), and the third (failing yet again). On the fourth day I got an offer for Nesta and Kaladze. When I went to reject the offer for Nesta (my in form defender) I accidently accepted it. Minutes later Nesta was a Villa player. :(

This was also on the last day of the transfer window. I do plan to bid for him again when the window reopens, but I'm sure I will have to pay a bomb to get him back. :(

I have just finished my first season of master league. I finished bottom of the league winning 2 games drawing 1 an losing the rest. I am playing on 5* and it's really difficult to pass the ball around and score goals. At the moment my best player is macco he is improving slowly but well. The good thing is i won the d2 cup beating west brom on penalties. I am looking to sign Ikedia and a good stricker.

Yes at first, but you get the hang of it after a while.

If 1 on 1 try looking for the square ball for a tap in.

Also I've found that a quick burst of sprint will often get you past the keeper.

Press shoot for longer as well, especially when at distance. Long rangers are quality in this one.

I remeber when the keeper saved a penalty then castolo hit again of the rebound and then the keeper saved it! I lost because of that.

Well, after 8 games, Cagliari are 6th in Serie A. Not bad, given the shakey start (1 loss and 2 draws). However, as Brackley reminded me at the end of the last match, i'm now unbeaten in 5 games (1 draw and 4 wins). This included a great match at home against AC Milan. It was 1-1 in the first half, and it stayed that way for what seemed like ages. But then, with 5 mins to go, striker Antonio Langella created some space just outside Milan's box and neatly threaded a threw ball to David Suazo, who cooly finished pass Dida. The home crowd went wild (me too) as Cagliari snatched a win in a game which had appeared to be heading for a stalemate.
I've got a match against Lecce and a Coppa Italia game against Sampdoria both coming up in the same week now. It could be a strain on my players, as i have such a small squad (7 subs i think). Looking forward to buying some players soon as i have a decent bankroll going on.

There was a constant battle for the 4th WEFA Championship place, by finishing 4th in Division 1, (Barclays Premiership on my game :mryellow: ). I am Charlton Athletic with match mode players on 5 stars for my first season, it's now 6 stars, but anyway...

Involved in the battle were, Charlton, Chelsea and Southampton, and we had swapped around places in the league quite a lot, but on the final day, we all had 55 points, however the advantage was with me, in having the superior goal difference (+20). So basically, all I had to do, was win, to guarantee myself WEFA Championships football next season.

My last match was against Tottenham, who were mid-table, average team. However, shock horror! In about the 10th minute, Kiely could only parry a shot, right into the path of Kanoute and they led 1-0. I was shellshocked :shock:. However I battled on and in the 28th minute, I won a corner on the far side. Danny Murphy puts the ball down, and whips in a beautiful corner, that finds an unmarked Jonathan Fortune, who nods into the back of the net. 1-1. I thought, "right, I've got them on the run now", however in the 40th minute of the first half, a loose ball bobbled along my 6 yard box, and Kanoute stuck out a long leg and managed to get the ball in. 2-1 down, just as we were going into halftime.

In the second half, the flow of game was pretty much the same - I would attack, they would defend and then counter, I was starting to get frustrated, but then in the 75th minute, a lifeline. From just in the Spurs penalty area, Jeffers hit a decent shot, Robinson in the Spurs goal, made a good save and pushed the ball quite wide, however Martins showed his strength by getting in front of the defender and managed to score from a very tight angle. 2-2, this may take me through, but I'd be relying on Chelsea and Southampton not winning - another goal would surely clinch WEFA Championship football for me next season. At this point I moved to a 3-1-3-3 formation, and brought on Kevin Lisbie to go up front as an extra striker. In the 83rd minute, Martins played a good through ball to Rommedahl who was on the left wing. Rommedahl cut into the corner of the penalty area and the keeper was rushing out to meet him, however Rommedahl just cooly tapped the ball to his right, where Jeffers was waiting to blast into the half empty goal!!!!!!

Incidently, Chelsea drew and Southampton lost so it wouldn't have mattered! But I didn't know that at the time and it was very exciting and nervous!

That was incredible stuff, and I'm now hoping to really bulk out my squad so my players don't get tired due to the increased number of games, now being in the WEFA Championships!! :mrgreen:

Nope, I don't have a real problem scoring. Scored 28 during the 14 games last season, which is an average of two a game.

Not that bad considering I've not good that good an attacking team.

Yes, there is some talent out there in Serie A. My young defenders aren't bad actually. Both fullbacks are increasing their acceleration stats. Diego Lopez is a good defender too. Then in attack, there's esposito and Bianchi, who are pretty useful as well.
I'm already looking for a Zola replacement, because he's going to retire soon. I was thinking perhaps some Argentinian or something. Donnet was a name i took down. I've been assembling a list for when the window opens. Mascherano looks good as a holding midfielder.

Not actually signed him, but played against him a few times, and he's been really difficult to play against.

Yes, there is some talent out there in Serie A. My young defenders aren't bad actually. Both fullbacks are increasing their acceleration stats. Diego Lopez is a good defender too. Then in attack, there's esposito and Bianchi, who are pretty useful as well.
I'm already looking for a Zola replacement, because he's going to retire soon. I was thinking perhaps some Argentinian or something. Donnet was a name i took down. I've been assembling a list for when the window opens. Mascherano looks good as a holding midfielder.

Ofcourse with Juve. Already eyeing players like Jankulovski and I will line up some future replacements for DP, like Chevanton, Pazzini or Cassano.

Yeah Carraciolo was linked to Juve again just a few days ago.

About 9 games gone. Bought japanese teamates Kubo and K.Nakata in the first transfer window.
I was playing Roda JC in div 2 and was losing 2 - 0 going into injury time. Shite i thought as i went all out attack. Minanda passed it to Njorgo who slipped between two defenders, and smacked the ball in 2-1!!!!! still hope. They take centre as the board showing 2 mins is raised i immediatly get the ball and go on a run but i get surrounded on the edge of the area with no where to go. Sod it i thought and i had a ambitious shot with Njorgo once again. It loops in the air and the keeper tips it over the bar! one last chance i thought. In came the cross headed out towards the edge of the area. First time shot i think and smack i get cropped inside the area they get sent off but more importantly i have a penalty!!!!!!! Up stepped Kubo with the last kick of the game. BANG smacks the ball straight down the middle...... ITS A GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS

I just blew my chance to go top of the table. Spartak Moscow are above me by 3 points (I'm doing random teams, rather than all Italian etc). Milan v Spartak Moscow at the San Siro. I started the match brightly. Limited Spartak with long punts up the pitch (which Stam was eating up). Just before half-time I took the lead. Pirlo fed the ball to Shevchenko down the left side. Sheva cut in to his right foot, accelerated a bit to get past Spartak's decently fast right back, and slammed the ball past their keeper.

I continued to make chances in the second. With Sheva usually being the provider (since I lack width with my diamond midfield setup). It hit the 80 minute mark, I took my eye of the ball for a few seconds and Spartak equalised. A long through ball not dealed with by Gattuso fell to one of their strikers, who hit a poor shot. But the shot deflected off the hapless Coloccini and squirmed under Dida. My chance of going top was gone. :(

I'm planning to set up a second system with wingers. To change around with the diamond incase I need some good old width.

The transfer looked likely to happen in the summer, and lately he was being linked again. It now looks unlikely again, shame as Janku is ready for a 'big' club. I might have to change my plans then(I might go for Gasbarroni instead).

I just bought my first ML player on pes4. His name is A. Kamara (french), 20 years old, his a left back who can play at left midfield. Has anybody tried the training during the off season. I have really got macco to improve a lot in his crossing which is know 77 and speed which is know 83.
My game is starting to improve a bit i beat real betis 3-1 in a friendly so it's looking well for the new season.

I did get into the WEFA Championships by finishing 4th, and curiously, so did Chelsea and Southampton, who finished 5th and 6th!!! From reading the manual, I think the teams that finish 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th from each Division go into the WEFA Championships qualifying group, then the top two go through and are joined in the knockout rounds by the teams that finished 1st and 2nd in each division, while the teams that finished 3rd and 4th in the WEFA Championship group, go to the WEFA Masters cup. I think!!!! :k

After playing the master league 5* with Man Utd,won the first season finished top and won the d2 cup, 20 games into 2005 season ryan giggs took a knock but was alright to come back on.........two minutes later got clattered from the side, he couldn't continue.
After checking his condition after the match he is going to be out for 40WEEKS.
So has anyone had longer injuries.



Also where is the injury symptoms,it only says 40 weeks.
on pes3 it give the injury the player had(cut,calf strain,bruise thigh)+the lengh of time he was out

Well as long as everybody is telling their master leagues stories. First of all i dont have my memory card so i cant save (my stupid friend has got it). I started of with Real Betis (match mode players). With Joaquin, Denilson and Olivera in attack i was sure that i will finish first. At first i was getting 1-0, 2-1 victories and i was first. A slumb in my attack meant that i started drawing games without scoring. So i changed it, took Fernando off the first team for Capi.

That started the scoring againg a Olivera was bagging goals in every game. Got into the finals of the Division 2 cup. Everything was gravy till the winning run ended and i started drawing again. Denilson and Joaquin were not playing that well but i stuck with them because of lack of quality personel. With 3 games to go and Sevilla 6 points behind i still could not score (damn the bastard keepers). Drew with Sevilla. Drew the next game after. Last game was against Getafe and i had to win because i could not be sure if Sevilla will draw or lose. Started the match and i won a soft penalty. Took the penalty with capi but it was saved. The late in the second half with about ten mins to go, had a shot with Olivera which was parried out to Joaquin but as i was about to slot the ball in a defender came out of nowhere and blocked it. Match finished 0-0 and Sevilla had won meaning they went top for the first time in the league (i was top throughout) and won it.

Talk about an exciting championship. Pressure and lack of Bottle for my players. Finished the league unbeaten and still finished second. Got my revenge though as i beat Sevilla in the cup in silver goal second half. Capi with a bullet header into the top corner after great work from Joaquin (1-0). Still felt empty. Quit the game as i had no memory card to save it on.

Hi, Im doing my Master League with the Match Mode players of Real Betis too. Only on 4 stars**** tho coz Im not good at Pes4, it doesnt suit me, but I like it. Curently top after 5 games. 4 wins 1 draw and Oliveira scoring 6 already.

5 stars ***** Played all at once as i did not have Uni. Oliveira is one of the best target men, wins every header. Computer some how learnt my game as they were marking out Joaquin regularly out of the game so every flick down by Oliveira was intercepted. Probably the most underated striker in the game. Can us both feet and his head. Ps Delison's performance might drop as he may start to feel slower with the ball. You might need a back up winger if so.

I had them in Div 2 cup last night and went 1 up with a strike from Pahars cutting in from the left and driving low into the corner.

Then went 2 - 1 down! Two fluky as feck goals!! Done my head right in, managed to scrape a draw in the 88th minute with a superb solo effort from Joe Cole, he beat two players and the keeper to walk the ball into an empty net.

Now I have to go to Fratton park and get a result.

Absolutley loving this game. Com STILL can't score free kicks mind. :roll:

Nice to see some of you strugelling because i am doing really shit in the second season of ML. I have won 1 game, drawn 1 and lost 5. The game is really hard on 5* and the fucking goalkeepers make saves that they don't have the right to save, talk about reflexes!

Depends, if you want a challenge use a middle table team, if you want to make it easier, use a top of the table team.

Or just use the team you support with the default ML players.

Make a decision based on what you like not what other people would do.

They may well have. If you notice, when you play a derby, at the kick off both club crests/flags are superimposed on the pitch, a bit like in some real TV games. As there are so many great derbys around the world, i'm sure it's something Nokami would have implemented.

I'm playing 5* too, and I'm starting to get better and win some more. I'm playing with PSV with default ML players, they belong in the game. I think I'll promote to the 1st division after this season, only 2 matches away with me leading the league.
Signing players is the real problem for me, even if I put it on 1* during negatiation period I still have to pay 2000 more than the player is worth. I'm building a nice team now, but my bench is still very crap. My team currently:

Well most of the players IRL don't go to Qatar even though they've been offered loads of money, it isn't the money that counts in every case. Try some less known players first, and get succession in division 1 and you should be able to get better players.

Well anyways, I started the ML with the worst team I could think of, De Graafschap (Match Mode players). I think it might be even worse than the original ML team (don't mean to offend any De Graafschap fans if there are any here.. ;) )! I'm on my first season and haven't bought any players yet.. but I'm going to build a balanced team, not a superb "AC Milan - Real Madrid - Arsenal"-type of team this time. At the moment it looks like I'm not going to promote this season, I've won only 1 game and tied one too, four losses. But in the D2 cup I made it to the second round.

Finished my inaugural season last night and I did the double (5*), having won the league with one game to spare, and dumping Portsmouth out of the cup 6 - 2, I rested my best players for the final.

And it was a great final, Saints V Ajax, Ajax went one up with about 4 minutes gone, which pissed me off.

So much in fact that I went on to completley tank the b'stards! Ended up winning 5 - 1!!! Pahars was far and away the man of the match with a stunning hat-trick. One diving header, one where he dinked it over the keeper and one with some excellent link up play with Beattie. :cool:

#1: top left (keeper went botton left)
#2: top right (keeper went bottom left)
#3: centre low (keeper went top left)

This week I played AZ with Ajax for Cup; most exciting game I ever played. At first, after 4 mins, 0-1 down, Kenneth Perez. After that, I went on attacking (AZ played attacking too so it was a lovely match) and scored 1-1 with Soetaers (my first full chip, nice goal). AZ took control again and got awarded a crappy penalty. Perez stood up and missed (wide, keeper Lobont in good corner, left low). I thought; let's grab the initiative again, but AZ kept on pressing and got awarded another PK after about half an hour. Perez again, same corner....Lobont parries it! Right on the stroke of HT, I got awarded a corner, taken by Sneijder. Ball went over everybody and rolled out of the box, there my LB Maxwell came and BOOOMMMM...amazing strike, right over the guy at the post, thunder! 2-1. 2nd half just started, corner AZ, header Opdam; 2-2. OMG, this is going to be difficult. Luckily I can put the pressure on them and attacks keep on coming in. In the end I scored another 2, Mitea and Sonck. A deserved victory, great spectacular match. I won the 2nd match 3-0 so eased through, but this was a fantastic match :D

The most penalties I've been awarded was 2 and Ricardo Oliveira missed them both and I went on to lose the match. It happened to be my only defeat in the season and I got promoted last night. It was an exciting end of the season beacuse Feyenoord and PSV were level on 32 points and I had 30 points with only one match left. The good thing was that Feyenoord and PSV were playing each other on the last day of the season so I was guaranteed to be promoted if I won coz I had superior goal difference. I was hoping that PSV would draw with Feyenoord so that I could snatch the title but it didnt happen and Feyenoord won the title with 35 points. I had 33 and PSV 32. Close huh.

Ricardo Oliveria was topscorer with 11, Joaquin top assister with 7 and Van Bommel was best player overall with an average rating of 6.6.

Oh well i've been reading this thread for so long but failed to give my own stories but last night and today i finally started my ML so i've got a bit to say :)

Started a master league season with Newcastle (real players) last night and i'm already 18 matches into the league.

I didn't start off well because i had over-estimated the squad to be honest. After a good set of games i realized this team doesn't have many ESTABLISHED good players like van Nistelrooy and stars but a lot of GOOD DESCENT young talent that will become a star one day like Milner, Jenas and others.

Also the depth of squad wasn't good and this showed after several matches and injuries and fatigue because all my players outside of first 11 fitted on the bench!!!!! this tells you that you have a small squad because if you play as Inter or someone, you notice you have several players who won't even fit on the bench.

anyways, Dyer was disappointing and with Milner, Ambrose and Bowyer occassionally playing on right wing, he really didn't have a first team spot and was disappointing everytime he played as well, he's also one to be always injuried so i traded him for Marcus Assuncao (Betis for those who don't know) because he can take a FREEKICK better than anyone (97) and i needed a good freekick taker as Robert was benched half the time because of fatigue and no one else in the team could take one, i also needed him to just add to depth of squad.

I haven't had a good FIRST-choice striker in my team right now, for first half of the season i simply played whoever did good last game or had a nice red arrow and not fatigued, that means all 4 strikers (Bellamy, Shearer, Kluivert and Ameobi) all got pretty much same amount of playing time and that explains why i dont have a player in top of the goalscoring charts of Premiership because each have got like 4 goals.

Anyways none really impressed but as season went on, Kluivert established himself as my FIRST-choice striker and others were competing for a place beside him, I kept Kluivert because not only did he score as many as the other ones but he MADE a lot of goals with his ability to hold up the ball and pass it around well.

Recently i've been using Kluivert and Michael Copra http://forum.pesinsight.com/images/smilies/wink.gif. I handed him his first start of the season against United and he didn't disappoint. He didn't score but his speed and agility were a menace to the likes of Brown and O'shea for quite some time.

he's not that good either though but with Bellamy disappointing and missing many good chances and Shearer too slow, Ameobi seems sluggish at times so it looks like they'll all be rotating aroudn Patrick until one starts playing better.

During transfer window, (half season) I bought Vincent Kompany because we badly needed defenders since O'Brien and Bramble are hardly reliable defenders and we needed some defenders on the bench anyways to add depth.

Kompany has been AMAZING!!!!! He's the most reliable defender at 190cm with 90 balance and good speed/passing/heading and he's improving every game. not only that he scored my only goal in a desivive 1-0 victory over Spurs from a corner!!!!!

I also brought Olembe in a trade and a bit of money for Robbie Elliot because he can play in a different number of positiosn including (LB, SMF, DMF and CMF) while Elliot could only play as backup to Bernard and he wasn't even good at that.

I've also brought in Persian international http://forum.pesinsight.com/images/smilies/wink.gif 18 year old Kaebi who most of you would probably know as (DAGAKA, because its his name in PES4 but i've changed). He hasn't impressed so far at all but his stats rise a hell of a lot.

i want to know which way is the best way to 'set up' the ML in terms of which teams should be selected in each division or isit a case where whatever set up is taken (puttin certain teams into certain divisions , keeping all the spanish in one league for e.g) its goin to get mixed up in time anyway

also i know there is a div 2 and from this u get promoted to div 1 (A) so what exactly are the purposes of div (B) (C) and (D) do they simply run parallel to these divisions?

You can choose which Div to be promoted to, when you first start the ML. Imagine the 4 leagues as 4 different European leagues. However, what i have done, is to make Div A, Serie A, which i am playing in. The other 3 divs, i've filled with teams likely to be in Europe.


I may be slow on this one, but i've noticed the com changes formation. eg takes off a defender and puts on a striker to make a 3-4-3 formation.

Also, does anyone know what a non-coloured (transparent) "form arrow" means? i had a striker who had one for 2 weeks. It wasn't red, orange, green, blue or grey, but it was pointing in the "green" direction (straight across)

I've had that too Professor, i think its when they're coming back from injury because thats the only time i've seen it.

means they're not match fit probably because each one of my players who got injured (Dyer, Kluivert) for lets say 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, he was able for selection but he had that special arrow... so i didn't put him in anyways i picked two other people but around 70th minute, i brought those 2 in.... to little by little make them match fit. then next game they both had RED arrow :D

i don't know if it was a coincidence or not but i hope that helped.

@Stifler, there are no Div 2 (B), Div 2 (C) or Div 2 (D) leagues.

its just 4 leagues of 16 teams and ONE div 2 league with 8 teams whose teams will promote to YOUR league.
thats why i'm playing premieship and i've the other 4 english teams into Div 2 so theres a 50% chance after end of season that i wont see someone like Anderlecht or Sporting come into my premership but rather it'd be Everton or Birmingham or the other 2 english teams.

i am around half way through my first season and so far am playing really well (with default players)
i usually switch my formation to 4-3-3 but this time around i stayed with the default formation and am really benefitting from it
Miranda (who i usually find to be quite shit) has been absolutely amazing for me and is the top scorer so far, i am about to raid the transfer market now to look for some bargains
am planning on bringing in a pacy striker and some good defenders in

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i was at the end of the season and i thought that i had paid my salary points and then i released kelsen at the cost of 57 points. I click go to next week. it autosaves and then 'GAME OVER' pops up. I had gone into minus numbers by 8 points!!!! 4 seasons down the bastard drain.
